If you’ve been looking for quality make-up products at affordable prices, then look no further than Rosie for Autograph at Marks and Spencer. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s collection for M&S looks premium, as the weighty, rose-gold packaging is highly reminiscent of brands such as Charlotte Tilbury and Hourglass. Now I know I’m a little late to the Rosie for Autograph party, as these products have been out for some time, but on first impressions alone I am very impressed!
The first item I purchased was Magic Contour, which is a soft, matte bronzing powder. This is perfect for a fair-medium skin tone, or for those who want a subtle glow. The product is highly pigmented, yet not orange at all, and a little goes a very long way. The size of the pan is great and the inclusion of a mirror immediately gives it an element of luxury. It wears well on the skin and gives a radiant glow which lasts all day. It’s also quite buildable, if you prefer a stronger contour, and it blends beautifully into the skin. Now that I’ve found a bronzer which isn’t orange, I will certainly be purchasing this again. The formula also comes in a slightly darker shade called Bronzed Beauty which would be great for medium – olive skin tones but unfortunately, there is a lack of shades for darker skin tones which is where the brand, like many others, is severely let down.
Next up is the I feel like a million dollars eyeshadow palette; a quad of four neutral shades in a mix of shimmer and matte colours. Again, the size of each pan and the mirror is great for the price. The pigmentation is very strong and the pay-off is excellent. There is a small amount of fall-down on application, especially with the shimmer shades, yet it wears well and doesn’t crease too much throughout the day. All the colours complement each other beautifully and blend together really easily. For £18.00 this is a winner for me, and I will certainly be treating myself to more of these palettes in the future (if I can decide which ones to buy!).
Finally, is the Rosie for Autograph eyeshadow stick in the shade Almond Eyes, a lovely cream eyeshadow crayon in a pale gold shade (which is very similar to By Terry’s Ombre Blackstar in Blond Opal). The formula itself is very creamy and is easy to blend out, and due to the metallic finish which sets on the lid, it doesn’t crease too much during the day. It is a great base for powdered eyeshadow, or can be used on its own, and it complements the I Feel Like a Million Dollars palette beautifully. I am already looking into more shades to buy as for £12.50, I haven’t found a cream eyeshadow which comes close to the quality and price point of this one from Rosie for Autograph.
I have to say that I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the quality, appearance and affordability of the Rosie for Autograph range, as you have the ability to get a premium make-up experience for a fraction of the cost. All the products are cruelty free and hypoallergenic, as well as being free-from parabens, fragrance and alcohol, and are suitable for all skin types. It would be nice to see more variety for skin tones, but on these products alone, I can guarantee these won’t be my only purchases from the brand.
