After last month’s amazing box, I couldn’t wait to receive October’s box of delights – and it certainly didn’t disappoint!

This month’s collaboration with Coppafeel! not only brought us a beautiful box design but also an important message to check our boobs on a regular basis in the hope to detect the signs of breast cancer earlier, rather than later.

The products this month were a varied selection of both make-up and skincare, and brought some familiar (and favourite!) brands back into my life..

Product One: ModelCo Megalash Mascara

I love ModelCo products and was excited to receive this mascara as i’m a self-confessed mascara horder! I’m not usually a fan of mascara’s with a plastic wand but I have to say that this one really exceeded my expectations. The wand gave my lashes separation and length, as it gets from the roots to the tip of lashes with ease and combs through for perfect application. The formula itself isn’t clumpy and holds well all day without any smudging or flaking. If you’re looking for a deep black mascara which makes your lashes look great all day, i’d definitely give this one a try!

Product Two: Balance Me Pure Skin Face Wash

If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that I love Balance Me products. I couldn’t wait to try out their face wash as it promises to effectively cleanse the skin from make-up and grime, all without stripping the skin of it’s natural moisture. It is also designed to brighten dull skin and balance combination and oily skin types too. The scent of grapefruit and frankincense is subtle yet fresh and it produces a good lather on the skin. It left my skin feeling clean and beautifully soft – with absolutely no tightness at all! I have to say that as an AM cleanse, or second cleanse in the evening, it is a lovely product and one which will be staying in my skincare routine for the long haul.

Product Three: Anatomicals Grab Your Melons Shower Gel

This is the first time I’ve ever tried any products by Anatomicals but I was quite impressed. Surprisingly, as a person who isn’t too keen on watermelon fragrances, the scent actually didn’t both me as it’s quite refreshing and not too overpowering. It lathered well and left my skin feeling squeaky clean without causing any irritation (which is sometimes the case with cheaper products!). All in all, i’d say for £1.50, it is amazingly good value for money and well worth a try!

Product Four: EcoTools Contour Perfecting Applicator

I have a few EcoTools brushes and have always been impressed by both the look and quality of the brushes. I haven’t tried any of their sponges in the past so you can imagine my delight when I discovered one in this month’s box. Now I don’t really contour, but I can see how perfect this sponge would be as the shape is at the perfect angle to exaggerate multiple areas of the face. I personally wanted to see other ways I could use this, and out of all the products I tried, concealer was my favourite. It is the perfect size for the under-eye area and the point is perfect to use on any blemishes. I have to say that it also worked great with cream blusher too as it blended out like a dream! The addition of a handle to a sponge of this size definitely made it easy to work with. The texture of the sponge itself is quite dense, which works well with cream products, but you just have to bear in mind that a light hand is all that’s needed. I will definitely be trying out more of their sponges as they are fantastic value for money.

Product Five: Eyeko Skinny Liquid Liner

Eyeko is one of my favourite brands and I loved seeing one of their products in my Birchbox this month. Now i’m not fond of eyeliner as I struggle to apply it and quite frankly, I haven’t got the patience! However, in true beauty-blogger style, I tried this out with low expectations – but i’m so glad I did. The tip is so thin and precise that application was not only speedy but actually accurate. In a few seconds, I had a gorgeous thin black line along my lash line with no mistakes or smudging – even with a shaky hand! It lasted really well throughout the day and didn’t move at all. Removal, with an oil-based cleanser, was very easy and not the huge task I was anticipating. It has certainly made me want to wear eyeliner more often and is a great choice for beginners.
