There is nothing better than receiving a beauty box through the post each month – especially one which is full of natural and cruelty free goodies such as The Natural Beauty Box. I’d had my eye on this beauty box for a while, so was overjoyed when the lovely Emma sent me a box to try.
The ‘Fresh Faced’ box arrived promptly after dispatch and was beautifully packaged along with a card explaining the various products and price of each item (and with a total box value of £82.95, it’s amazing value for money!). Even another natural beauty fan at Beauty Folio HQ was impressed when it arrived…
I was pleased to see some favourite brands and products amongst those featured in the box, as well as some that were new to me. It’s great to have such a variety of full-sized items and I couldn’t wait to get testing.
Bloomtown Blue Clay & Indigo Leaf Soothing Mask
Bloomtown are among my favourite natural beauty brands, and as many of you will know, this particular mask has become one of my essential face masks. I reviewed the Blue Clay & Indigo Leaf Soothing Mask back in January, and the more I use it, the more my skin loves it! The non-drying clay formula is perfect on my dry and eczema-prone skin as the blue bentonite clay gives skin a good detox, while indigo leaf, coconut extract, radish root and nettle root calms and moisturises the skin. A little goes a very long way, as the mask is quite thick and is easily spread across the face, and it rinses off really well. I’ve always found my skin incredibly soft after use, and any areas of redness or irritation is completely soothed. It may not look like the most exciting mask in the jar, but believe me when I say that this is a must-have for those with sensitive skin.
PHB Ethical Brightening Eye Gel
PHB are another amazing brand that I’ve recently discovered, and I already know what a gem this eye gel is as I reviewed it back in January. This lovely lightweight gel contains Eyebright, Neroli and White Birch Oil to boost micro-circulation and hydrate, decrease puffiness and reduce the appearance of darkness and discolouration around the eye area. I’ve been using this since January and i’m still on the same tube as you only need a small amount making it great value for money. The gel has an almost cooling effect when applied around the eyes, which certainly keeps puffiness at bay, and my under eyes have certainly felt smoother and more hydrated since I’ve been using it. I love how my dark circles are less visible and it’s great under make-up too as it keeps my skin around the eye area feeling smooth all day. If you’re looking for an ethical brand who’ve created an eye product that delivers on it’s promises, then you won’t go far wrong with PHB Brightening Eye Gel.
Villiers London Floral Facial Steam
I’ve never tried facial steaming before, as it’s always something I’ve associated with drying out my already dry skin type, so I was excited to try something new. I will be honest and say that I started the process with low expectations, as the product smelt amazing but I thought it would be overpowering and make no difference to my skin – but how wrong could one be! The blend of 14 botanicals, including a selection of herbs, flowers and fruit peels, gives a subtle wave of fragrance and relaxes the mind as well as opening pores. After steaming for 10 mins, my face looked brighter and glowing, and allowed my skincare products to absorb into the skin with ease. Even a few hours later, my skin felt fresher and looked more radiant, so much so that my Mum noticed that I looked ‘glowing’. It also goes a long way, as 2 tablespoons sounds a lot but only scratched the surface of the beautiful array of botanicals. I hadn’t heard of Villiers London before receiving The Natural Beauty Box, but based on this particular product’s performance, I can honestly say that it won’t be the last!
Myroo Skin Boost Facial Serum – Starflower and Orange Blossom
I recently tried out Myroo’s Fragrance Free Skin Boost Serum sample and was really impressed by the immediate effects. You can therefore imagine my delight when I saw this full sized fragranced version in The Natural Beauty Box, as I was interested to see how it performed on a long term basis. Firstly, the packaging is gorgeous, as the frosted glass bottle and lovely modern design on the label instantly makes the brand feel fresh and the products look inviting. The serum smells lovely and isn’t too strong on the skin, which was my initial concern, and any fragrance soon dissipates from the skin quickly after use. As with the Fragrance Free serum i’d tried previously, the skin loving ingredients are designed to restore moisture, stimulate cell growth and improve elasticity, leaving skin looking and feeling moisturised and more radiant. My dry skin absolutely loved it, and it has definitely made my skin feel softer and smoother after use. This has reaffirmed my love of Myroo products as I am yet to try a product I didn’t like!
BYBI Buffer Lip Scrub
I always suffer with dry, chapped lips so this was a welcome addition to this month’s box. BYBI is a brand that is new to me, so I had absolutely no idea what to expect. The lip scrub is great in a tube, as it prevents the scrub getting wet and makes it a cleaner and easier process – the added bonus is that the tube is also biodegradable and made from sugar cane, so is extremely eco-friendly too! The scrub itself has just the right texture which does the job by buffing away flaky skin and hydrating lips with the addition of sweet almond oil. The scent is literally good enough to eat, with a subtle strawberry and spicy cinnamon fragrance which prevents the scrub for smelling sickly sweet. My lips have never felt so soft and nourished, and have even improved the wear of my lipstick. All in all, this is a fab product and I can’t wait to explore this brand further.
My first experience of The Natural Beauty Box has been amazing and is certainly amazing value for money. It is great to find a beauty box that features so many ethical brands that create amazingly great quality products. I have already signed up to receive a box each month, as £24.95 including postage is such great value for so many products – and the service has been fantastic. There are also a range of purchase options available, so there really is an option for everyone!
