I am always on the lookout for great websites which sell natural and organic beauty products, but have often been disappointed by the lack of care and appreciation for customer loyalty – that was until Rare Beauty popped up on my radar!
I first saw Rare Beauty on social media a few months ago while they were still in the midst of launching their wesbite, and was instantly intrigued by the buzz from bloggers and natural skincare enthusiasts. Immediately, I could see that the hype was justified, as the company ethos and promise of being the first woman-led retailer of ethical beauty products excited me, and the launch couldn’t come quick enough.
Rare Beauty launched on the 1st May 2018, and boasts a website which is attractive, easy to navigate and full of helpful information to ensure that you find the products which are perfect for you. Corinne, the founder of Rare Beauty has found some amazing brands to work with, and her concept of creating a space for women in the skincare business is refreshing. There are currently 7 brands available to purchase online: Alexa Sky Botanicals, Bloom Remedies, Freyaluna, Nakin, Magical Tree, Mallow and White and Myroo Skincare – all brands who create handmade items right here in the UK. In fact all the products which are sold on Rare Beauty must adhere to a strict ethical code, which includes products being cruelty free, free-from nasties, organic and shipped in eco-friendly packaging, to name a few, so you know every product is high quality and great for the environment as well as the skin.
What I love most about the site are the Residents, a group of women representing the every woman, from those with a passion for ethical beauty to natural beauty newbie’s just starting their journey for better skincare. Each product has been tested by Corinne and the Residents to ensure that it has a place on the site – just reasserting the real dedication to to high quality skincare. They also provide honest reviews on each product available so you know exactly what to expect from each item.
I placed my order with ease, navigating the site effectively and paying with no issues at all. My parcel arrived promptly within three days, beautifully packaged in biodegradable/disolvable nuggets and tissue paper, with a hand written note thanking me for my order (on a business card made from recycled t-shirts no less!). I am always impressed with a handwritten note and nice packaging, as to me, this is what getting a parcel should be, and sets smaller businesses with a passion for what they do apart from larger corporations. I even received a lovely shopping bag in the post a few days later to thank me for my support, something which was such a kind gesture and not necessary, but meant a lot to me as both a customer and blogger. I personally love to support small businesses, watch them grow and gain the sucess they deserve. We often forget that on the other side of a website or brand is a team of dedicated and hard working individuals that make their dreams into reality – and allow us to have the best experience we possibly can.
I purchased three items in total, from Myroo (one of my new-found favoute brands), Alexa Sky Botanicals and Mallow and White (new brands to me). My initial views of the products have been great, but i’ll be doing a full review of each item when i’ve had more time to put them through their paces – so don’t forget to check back in a couple of weeks.
