No Secrets Cosmetics: Body Butters and Facial Oils (First Impressions)

As someone with a very dry skin type, butters and oils are an integral part of my skincare routine so when Sandrine at No Secrets Cosmetics asked if i’d like to try some of their products, I couldn’t wait to try them out.

No Secrets Cosmetics are a newly launched vegan and cruelty free beauty brand who handcraft their products right here in the UK using natural and sustainable ingredients, many of which are locally-sourced. Their dedication to the environment is realised within their eco-friendly, palm-oil free products and their packaging which is all fully reusable and recyclable and comes without excess outer boxes to keep waste down to a minimum. The modern yet simplistic design is not only visually appealing but also reflects upon the simple and transparent nature of the brand itself, including only necessary information on the packaging much like the no-nonsense products within.

Despite being a newly launched brand,  their products are already making an impact on the green beauty scene with two of their products being shortlisted for The Natural Health International Beauty Awards; two products which I was fortunate enough to try out alongside two other best sellers.

Cocoa Whipped Butter: Hand and Body Moisturiser*

No Secrets Cosmetics Cocoa Whipped Butter is a hand and body moisturiser made from just three beautiful ingredients including organic fair trade cocoa butter, cold-pressed Camelina oil and organic fairtrade shea butter. Thanks to the simplistic formulation that is free-from essential oils, this butter is suitable for the masses, perfect for pregnancy skin and sensitive skin – even gentle enough for use on babies. The rich butter has the most beautiful silky smooth texture that melts into the skin with ease, leaving behind intensely nourished, soft skin with all dry patches eradicated in an instant. The butter itself has the most heavenly aroma, as the intense chocolatey-scent of the cocoa butter makes the skin smell good enough to eat.

What I love most about the Cocoa Whipped Butter is just how concentrated it is, as a little product really does go a very long way. The plastic-free packaging and great results makes this a winner – a body butter that I will definitely be repurchasing in the future.

Fresh Feet Butter*

The Fresh Feet Butter, much like the brand’s Cocoa Whipped Butter, has a lovely simple formulation that works wonders on dry feet. Created with organic shea butter, organic hemp seed oil, berry wax, peppermint oil and Vitamin E, Fresh Feet Butter provides intense moisturisation for dry and cracked heels with a minty aroma that keeps feet smelling fresh all day long. The butter has a slightly more dense texture from the tin than other butters i’ve used in the past yet melts immediately on contact with the skin, allowing you to easily rub it in without the feeling of stickiness often associated with footcare products. The butter itself absorbs surprisingly well compared to many other foot creams i’ve used in the past and the effects last all day, keeping my feet soft and supple after use. The fresh peppermint aroma made this foot butter a joy to use and it is certainly evident why this has been shortlisted in The Natural Health International Beauty Awards as it is a true skincare saviour.

Pure Omega Face Oil *

I was so excited to try this facial oil from No Secrets Cosmetics as despite loving my aromatherapy based beauty products, I also love to incorporate fragrance free products in my skincare routine from time to time. The Pure Omega Face Oil contains poppy seed oil, hemp seed oil, camelina seed oil and natural Vitamin E to deeply nourish the skin and work in harmony with your other skincare products. Rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids, Pure Omega keeps skin looking and feeling moisturised all day without any shine thanks to the highly absorbent formula that soaks into the skin in an instant.

As the oil is free from essential oils, it is also great to use around the eyes, leaving the under eye area looking refreshed and hydrated. Pure Omega certainly differs when it comes to other fragrance-free oils i’ve tried in the past as it is really scent free thanks to the ingredients themselves having little to no natural aroma. The rollerball applicator on No Secrets Cosmetics samples makes for quick and easy application, so much so that Pure Omega now lives in my handbag for on the go application if i’m in a particularly dry environment as air-conditioning, heating and windy weather are not a dry-skinned girls’ best friend. If you’re looking for a fragrance-free facial oil that leaves skin feeling nourished without any residue on the skin then No Secrets Cosmetics’ Pure Omega may just be the one for you.

Rosemary English Face Oil*

I have to say that i’m a big fan of rosemary in my skincare as the herby aroma certainly leaves my senses feeling balanced and refreshed while the calming properties of the essential oil itself keeps irritated skin soothed. No Secrets Cosmetics’ Rosemary English Face Oil is formulated with poppy seed oil, hemp seed oil, rosemary essential oil and vitamin E and much like it’s fragrance-free sibling, is high absorbent and non-greasy. Despite its lightweight texture and easily absorbing formula, the oil still boasts deeply moisturising properties and certainly shows that minimal ingredients can still give maximum results.

The oil itself is suitable for dry and oily skin types alike and has certainly aided my own skin by keeping dry and flakey skin at bay during the changeable weather we’ve been having recently. I’ve also found that the oil works perfectly as a pulse point therapy oil, boosting concentration and memory when applied to the wrists and inhaled, while also easing tension headaches when applied to the temples. As far as first impressions go, No Secrets Cosmetics Rosemary English Face Oil has certainly wowed me with its overall performance. My skin has felt less irritated during the seasonal change and has looked fresher and clearer in its appearance. If you love the scent of herbs in your skincare then this Rosemary English Face Oil is the perfectly balanced treat your skin needs this Autumn.

No Secrets have truly impressed me with their high quality products that have performed beyond my initial expectations. The brand’s ethos and dedication to great skincare and environmental issues is admirable, and the overall affordability of the products themselves shows that green beauty doesn’t have to cost the Earth and that when it comes to product ingredients, less really can be more.
