Five Dot Botanics are a brand that have been on my radar for a while as their ethos and rave reviews have certainly made them stand out in a crowd. The vegan friendly British brand pride themselves on creating radical, botanical and minimal skincare which challenges the status quo and revolutionises what natural skincare truly stands for.
Creating skincare products that lets the natural ingredients shine through is something many brands excel at, yet Five Dot Botanics go beyond this, focusing upon the number of high quality ingredients they use. Five Dot Botanics incorporate only five ingredients in each product – no more or no less – in order to be completely transparent in their approach to great skin.
You can imagine my delight when I recently won a sample of their Deep Feed Facial Serum over on Instagram, as it sounded like the perfect product for my dry and dehydrated skin which is starting to gain some fine lines across my forehead. The generous sample has lasted well, showing that the concentrated formulas are exceptional value for money as less is certainly more when it comes to application as well as the ingredient list itself.
Deep Feed Facial Serum is formulated with ingredients that have powerful anti-aging properties perfect for reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as providing deep nourishment and soothing inflammation. The vitamin-rich oil contains safflower seed oil, green coffee seed oil, amla extract, cacay nut oil and chamomile flower oil which gives the serum its retinol and antioxidant-rich formulation to fight free radicals and promote a healthier, glowing complexion.
Deep Feed has the most beautifully balanced scent of soothing chamomile, alongside a very delicate nutty and green aroma, which makes the facial serum a pleasure to use. The serum itself is incredibly lightweight yet performs much like a richer oil as it is so concentrated that such a small amount leaves skin feeling deeply moisturised after use, and my complexion somewhat brighter than it was before. I utilised this in both my AM and PM routine and as far as first impressions go, i’ve been very impressed by the overall performance so far. The serum left my skin feeling instantly nourished after first application yet it was the effects after a few days use that certainly wowed me. My dry skin was plump and hydrated and I found it less flaky throughout the day. My complexion certainly looked brighter and revitalised, and the redness in my cheeks was greatly improved, as were the slightly congested pores across the top of my nose.
I have to say that the performance of Deep Feed, as well as the brand’s ethos, makes Five Dot Botanics a brand to watch. Their passion and dedication for complete transparency within their skincare range is admirable, and makes the products as effective as they can possibly be. To find a facial serum that delivers, especially when it only contains five ingredients, is amazing, and to say i’m impressed is an understatement. The generous sample-sized serum has made my skin long for more, so Deep Feed (and a few other Five Dot Botanics goodies) are already on my wishlist.
