Meadow Skincare: Starter Kit (Review)

If you’ve been following me for a while you’ll know just how much I’ve been loving Meadow Skincare ever since I discovered them earlier this year.

I have previously reviewed their product range on several occasions  yet I wanted to share my latest experience with you in the form of the brand’s Starter Kit. When I was planning my Natural Skincare Christmas Gift Guide this year, I knew Meadow Skincare would have to feature as what better gift to give someone than an introduction to an incredible British indie brand.

The Starter Kit features sample-sized versions of their complete skincare range as well as an EllyFante bamboo face cloth and sustainable wooden spoon – so you really do have everything you need to start your Meadow Skincare journey. As with any Meadow Skincare order, you also receive an information card guiding you through each product to ensure you fully reap the benefits of their high quality, vegan friendly, water less skincare.

What I love most about the set is the size of the products themselves as despite the miniature sizes, you get several uses from each product thanks to their concentrated formulations where a little really does go a very long way. I have to say that for me, the Starter Kit is more than just a gift set as it goes beyond a simple gift idea and actually puts that special someone on the path of an amazing skincare journey regardless of age or skin type (but don’t forget that this also makes the perfect treat for yourself too!).

Gently Nourishing Cleansing Balm

Meadow Skincare’s Gently Nourishing Cleansing Balm is the largest of the sample sizes featured in the Starter Kit at 15ml, as it will allow you to get a true feel of how the cleansing balm performs as both a cleanser and a make-up remover. The beautiful, soft balm contains skin loving ingredients such as pumpkin oil, mango butter, safflower oil and coconut oil to deeply cleanse the skin while also leaving it feeling intensely nourished too. The fact that it is suitable for all skin types makes it a great all-rounder and i’ve also found that it is suitable to use during eczema flare-up’s too. The essential oil blend of lavender and grapefruit gives the most stunning fresh and calming aroma that makes it a pleasure to use.

Gently Resurfacing Facial Exfoliant

As someone who suffers with a dry skin type, exfoliants are certainly among my essential skincare items. The Gently Resurfacing Facial Exfoliant from Meadow Skincare is unlike any other facial exfoliator i’ve used in the past as it contains beautiful exfoliating ingredients such as apricot and hibiscus powders to buff away dead skin cells without any grittiness. The addition of collidial oat powder, shea butter, marshmallow extract, avocado oil and vitamin e also help to soothe even the most sensitive skin and provide intense moisturisation while you exfoliate. The gentle, yet highly effective facial exfoliant is so kind to the skin that it can even be used daily on very dry skin types. What I love most about Meadow Skincare’s exfoliator is how my skin looks after use, as not only does my skin look less dry and flaky but it is much brighter in its appearance and has a healthy glow that lasts. The uplifting citrus aroma, which has a slight floral undertone, makes this a truly sensory experience and among one of my favourite exfoliators to date.

Calm and Soothe Face Mask

20191201_175848.jpg

Face masks are part of our skincare rituals that we don’t seem to be able to live without and when they have such amazing results such as Meadow Skincare’s Calm & Soothe Face Mask, why should we. The Calm & Soothe Face Mask is the one I reach for if my face is unhappy or i’m going on a night out and want my skin to look and feel at its best. The soothing mask containing beautiful skin loving ingredients such as babassu oil, cucumber oil, brocolli oil, blue yarrow and kaolin clay ensures that redness is reduced, skin is more balanced and intensely hydrated after use. Thanks to it’s naturally anti-oxidant rich formulation, it also helps to boost skin’s elasticity and fight free-radicals. For me, I love the texture which adopts a greasy, balm like consistency which sits beautifully on the skin without drying out or cracking. Calm & Soothe Face Mask is the mask that never lets me down and always manages to make me feel good about my skin (even if I do look a little like Shrek during my masking session!). I am already planning on purchasing a full-sized version before the new year as it’s a mask I certainly miss when it runs out.

Hydration Boost Moisturising Balm

I absolutely love incorporating balms into my skincare routine as they really are a skin saviour on my dry skin type, as well as during the Winter weather. Meadow Skincare’s Hydration Boost Moisturising Balm brings a little bit of sunshine to your beauty regime, with a silky smooth balm that is highly concentrated and has the most beautiful aroma of lavender and geranium essential oils, which still allow the natural scent of the oils and butters shine through. The Hydration Boost Balm is so concentrated that a small amount of balm really nourishes the skin without leaving you looking greasy or your skin feeling heavy.  It’s also incredibly versatile in its application, as not only is it perfect for dry areas on the face and body but will also work wonders on flyaways, dry ends of your hair and even works well as a make-up primer on drier skin types. It is perfect for use on even sensitive skin thanks to its beautiful ingredients such as hemp oil, shea butter, rosehip oil and argan oil that makes this one of my favourite balms (and one which I have already purchased in full size!).

Overnight Replenishing Oil

20191201_175936.jpg

Face oils are always an integral part of both my AM and PM routine however sometimes I find I have to pair my oils with other oil-based products and creams overnight just to get that little extra boost of nourishment that my skin craves at bedtime. Thankfully, after using the Overnight Replenishing Oil, my skin is always plump, hydrated and feels soft and supple in the morning, with only a little balm needed during the cooler weather when my skin has been dehydrated from central heating and harsh weather. The blend of oils including safflower, tomato, prickly pear, camellia, pomegranate and watermelon, alongside a stunning essential oil blend, makes this a joy to use. The texture is surprisingly lightweight for an overnight product yet gives the results of a product with a richer consistency. It doesn’t leave skin looking greasy or oily as it only gives a veil of shine to the skin. As with all Meadow Skincare products, less is certainly more, with a lovely nourishing formulation that delivers on its promise of smoothing texture and balancing the skin.

EllyFante Bamboo Wash Cloth & Wooden Spoon

This Starter Kit contains some truly beautiful products that on it’s own would make it a lovely gift set yet the addition of the incredibly soft EllyFante bamboo wash cloth and small wooden spoon takes the Starter Kit to the next level, giving the lucky recipient a complete set of skin saviours. The wash cloth is actually among the best i’ve tried thanks to it’s soft fibres and large size that makes mask removal and hot cloth cleansing a breeze. The wooden spoon is the perfect size to scoop out your skincare and actually prevents you from using too much.

Starter Kit: £35.00 (add a giftbox for £1)

To say i’m a fan of Meadow Skincare is an understatement, as I am never disappointed with the quality and amazing results. The Starter Kit is testament to the dedication the brand have for great skin, as they have taken the time to curate a box with everything you need to transform your skincare routine for the better. The miniature sizes feel much larger due to the concentrated formulations that mean you get several applications from each one and ultimately get a true feel for how your skin is responding to each product. The brand have wowed me yet again with their Starter Kit which is perfect for gifting, travelling or even treating yourself – it’s the perfect set for any occasion.
