True Skincare: Nourishing Avocado & Evening Primrose Facial Oil for Dry Skin (Review)

When it comes to natural and organic beauty products, there seems to be a general consensus that you have to pay a lot of money to be able to adopt a greener, beauty routine – and if you don’t, the products will be less effective and certainly not as ethical.

True Skincare has taken this stigma and turned it on its head, providing a skincare range that not only utilises 100% certified organic ingredients in each product, but also is very affordable and effective at tackling an array of skin concerns.

As the name suggests, True Skincare have honesty at the heart of their brand, staying true to their beliefs that skincare should be high quality, available to all and contain no hidden ingredients. With an ethos firmly rooted in transparency, True Skincare demonstrate that natural beauty doesn’t have to be complicated and that you can utilise ethical products, that also boast attractive and sustainable packaging, within your skincare routine without harming your bank balance, the environment and most importantly, your health.

As someone with a very dry skin type, True Skincare’s Nourishing Avocado and Evening Primrose Oil had been on my radar for a while so when Winter arrived, so did True Skincare’s Face Oil.

Firstly, I must say that the packaging certainly rivals any of the more premium brands out there with a simplistic yet sleek appearance that made a good first impression. The oil itself combines organic oils such as sunflower, safflower, borage, avocado and evening primrose, alongside essential oils of vetiver, lemon peel, patchouli, palmarose and orange peel, to give the face oil a beautiful fresh, slightly floral aroma that still allows the natural scent of the oils to shine through. The texture, although incredibly rich, doesn’t leave the skin feeling greasy at all, simply leaving behind a dewy and glowing complexion as it absorbs into the skin.

True Skincare’s Nourishing Avocado & Evening Primrose oil is formulated to combat several issues associated with dry skin types and in my opinion, certainly performs well. Rich in essential fatty acids and vitamins A, D and E, the oil replenishes the skin and maintains a healthier looking complexion. As well as this, it helps to soothe irritation, redness and itching – all of which it achieves even after only a few days of use.

I’ve been utilising this in my routine for quite some time now and have to say that it continually impresses me each time I use it. The very first time I incorporated it into my routine, it immediately left my skin looking and feeling incredibly nourished and soft to the touch. Using it over a number of months has made me fall in love with it more and more, keeping my dry and flaky skin at bay all day, even without using it in conjunction with a balm (which is unheard of in my routine!). I feel like my skin stays hydrated and deeply moisturised for a longer period of time and although I was initially worried that I would need to apply more oil due to it’s affordable price, I have been impressed by the value for money as a little oil goes a very long way.

To say that True Skincare have delivered impressive results with their Nourishing Avocado & Evening Primrose Face Oil is an understatement, as it has been a true Winter skincare saviour during the cooler weather and central heating. I cannot wait to explore the range even further as I am excited to see if the rest of their products deliver the same fantastic experience as their face oil for dry skin.
