I always get excited when I see one of my favourite skincare brands launching a new product, especially when it is a multipurpose wonder like the latest addition to the Meadow Skincare family.

Meadow Skincare’s recent launch comes at a time when i’m sure we are all thankful for some extra TLC on our hands as we join the fight against Covid-19 with increased hand washing and wiping down of surfaces. Washing our hands more often may have become a normal way of life but the toll it takes on our hands is another story.

Thankfully, Meadow Skincare’s Lip & Hand Balm is a real triumph when it comes to a non-sticky hand treatment that also doubles as a nourishing treat for lips and other areas of the body too.

The Lip & Hand Balm comes in a handy, aluminium tin which is lighter than glass for on-the-go application and is fully recyclable and reusable. The balm is formulated with just nine ingredients including Illipe Butter, Mango Butter, Apricot Butter, Oat Oil Murumuru Butter, Apricot Oil, Kokum Butter, Vegan Wax and Vitamin E. The balm itself is fragrance free, and just like all the other Meadow Skincare products, is vegan friendly, cruelty-free and handmade in small batches to ensure quality and freshness.

I am really impressed by the texture of the balm as it has a very soft consistency yet isn’t greasy or glossy like other balms i’ve used in the past. As the formulation is so concentrated with highly moisturising ingredients, I’ve found that a little goes a long way and due to the soft yet non-greasy texture, you can buff it into hands, lips and localised dry patches on the body without any effort at all. As someone who despises the feel of hand cream, I couldn’t be more impressed with the overall performance of the Lip & Hand Balm. It left my dry and irritated hands feeling soft, supple and quite frankly, like skin again! It soothed any irritation and protected my hands from further dryness, even after washing my hands repeatedly throughout the day. This really gave my hands the TLC they needed and has been a staple in my skincare routine since it launched.

As well as using this on my hands, i’ve also been loving this as a lip balm as it doesn’t leave lips shiny, but almost gives them a demi-matte look with only a very subtle sheen. What is even more impressive about the Lip & Hand Balm is that it is so gentle that you can also use it all over the body, even on eye lids. This was one of the additional bonuses for me as I suffer with really dry eye lids and it is so difficult to find a product suitable for such a delicate part of the body. Much like the effect on the lips, it leaves a very delicate sheen on the lids and soothes them in an instant. After applying to my eyelids for around two days all dryness was eradicated and (touch wood!), they have felt smooth and intensely moisturised since.

I cannot thank Meadow Skincare enough for creating such a perfect product and launching it at a time when my skin so desperately needed it. A true multi-tasker that really delivers amazing results on each application. As it has so many uses this is certainly a handbag essential that I wouldn’t be without and even during the recent hot weather, it didn’t melt like similar products i’ve used in the past.
