|Gifted| I am a big fan of using multipurpose products withing my skincare routine and no brand does multi-tasking quite like Beauty Cleanse Skincare…

If you’ve followed me for a while you may have seen my review of Beauty Cleanse Skincare’s Carrot Algae Marine Drops, a product which had 4 different uses within your beauty ritual. Today, their award-winning Mean Green Superfood Drops are taking centre stage, with a wealth of uses (a total of 8 to be exact!), it really is a multiuse wonder in its own right.

Beauty Cleanse Skincare’s founder Saman took inspiration from a healthy ‘juice cleanse’ when formulating her range, harnessing the natural goodness of superfoods which, when used in her diet, helped her reverse the early symptoms of type-2 diabetes. This minimal approach to lifestyle is realised within her skincare range in both the ingredients and capsule collection which targets a multitude of beauty concerns in both skincare and haircare. The Mean Green Superfood Drops are certainly a perfect example that less is more, eradicating the need for multiple products in your skincare stash…

Beauty Cleanse Skincare: Mean Green Superfood Drops

Mean Green Superfood Drops are a multipurpose, restoring serum-in-oil formulation, containing antioxidant-rich ingredients that are high in essential omegas and fatty acids to restore skin, hair and nails with the very best cold-pressed, COSMOS certified oils including:

  • Organic Broccoli Seed Oil,
  • Organic Rosehip Oil,
  • Olive Squalane,
  • Organic Jojoba Oil,
  • Organic Red Raspberry Seed,
  • Organic Tamanu Seed Oil,
  • Organic Pomegranate Seed Oil,
  • Organic Macadamia Nut Oil,
  • Organic Chia Seed),
  • Natural Antioxidant Vitamin E),
  • Sunflower Seed Oil,
  • Organic Spearmint,
  • Organic Lemongrass.

The nourishing blend really has the most beautiful texture, with a lightweight feel on the skin that absorbs beautifully after use. The scent from the bottle is earthy, with the natural fragrance of oils such as Organic Tamanu coming to the forefront, with the spearmint and lemongrass aroma coming through as you begin to apply to the skin, nails and hair. I love the way that spearmint has been used as an alternative to peppermint, as it still has that minty freshness without being overpowering in any way and brings with it a calming skin benefit that can also help even skin tone. I’ve found the scent really uplifting with each use and I particular love the way that it lingers, allowing you to really enjoy the scent for the long haul.

I have been testing this serum for quite some time now, utilising it in all 8 ways until the bottle ran dry. Here’s a round up of all the ways you can integrate it into your routine and my thoughts on the performance of each application…

1.Make-Up Primer

I absolutely loved integrating this into my make-up routine as I have particularly dry skin so i’m always looking for ways to get a better finish to my foundation without making my skin looking oily in any way. Thankfully, Mean Green Superfood Drops performed incredibly well giving a foundation a nice smooth base and a soft-focus finish without any greasy residue. What I enjoyed the most is that it didn’t alter the wear of my foundation and kept my skin nicely nourished throughout the day.

2. AM & PM Facial Oil

Due to the lightweight texture and beautifully nourishing ingredients, this made for a lovely facial oil in both my morning and evening routine. As I was using this in so many ways, I can’t tell you of the long term effects yet if the short term use was anything to go by, i’m sure this will be a real skin saviour. It left my skin feeling soft to the touch and looking rejuvenated in its appearance. The scent was refreshing on the senses and it sat well with all my other skincare. I feel like for me, this would be more beneficial for my AM routine, as I tend to use slightly thicker, richer products in the evening on my dry skin. I feel that this would be a great balancing formulation for oily to normal skin types as well as dry and dehydrated skin types like mine. It’s a great all-rounder and boasts a wealth of skincare benefits that are perfect for all skin types, even sensitive, and I like how it is formulated with both morning and evening use in mind.

3. Nail & Cuticle Oil

In a similar way to the facial oil, the fact that the formulation is so lightweight made this a dream to use as a nail and cuticle oil as it absorbed quickly, leaving my cuticles softened and my nails hydrated with a healthy sheen. What I loved is the way that a little oil went an incredible long way and kept my nails looking in tip top condition, even when using more hand sanitiser and upping my hand-washing.

4. Overnight TLC Nail Treatment

I am a person who frequently uses hand products and oils overnight with cotton gloves to retain moisture, so I was excited to utilise Mean Green Superfood Drops as an overnight TLC nail treatment. I experienced the same great results as using it as a nail and cuticle oil yet was able to put a little more onto my nails and spend time really massaging it in before bed (before reapplying a little more to work overnight). Any dry skin around my nails was eradicated after a few nights and as I also applied to my hands too, they also reaped the benefits of the beautiful ingredients that left them looking and feeling great for the day ahead.

5. Post-Manicure

I actually use a cruelty-free (and free-from) gel nail system on my own nails from time to time so this was a great way to test it out in both the manicure and removal process. Nail polish remover can really dehydrate and strip the hands so it’s great to have an oil-based product to help put the nutrients back into both the skin and nails. Post manicure, this really helped to not only nourish my cuticles but also soothe the skin too. After gel nail removal, this really helped to ensure my nails were reconditioned and healthier in both their appearance and feel. My nails remained healthy and shiny and my cuticles were moisturised and sitting nicely against my nail bed., making this a great addition to my nail care routine.

6. Hair Styling

This was actually one of my favourite uses as I am always looking for great hair care products to help tame my thick hair. This was a great product to incorporate into my drying routine as I applied it to damp hair to not only help smooth the hair cuticles but also protect my hair from heat styling. A few drops went quite a long way despite the thickness and longer length of my hair and it left my tresses feeling soft and more managable after blow-drying. What I loved most about my experience in particular was the way my hair was left smelling of the beautiful spearmint and lemongrass aroma that still remained for several hours after use. It didn’t leave my hair feeling heavy or weighed down, so even if you have fine hair, a drop of Mean Green Superfood Drops may work for you. I also used this on dry hair as a smoothing treatment after heat styling and it gave my hair a lovely sheen, without being greasy, and just made my hair look in healthy condition.

7. Hair Leave-In Treatment

In addition to my hair styling, I also integrated this as a more intensive treatment on my hair, applying a little more product to the ends of my hair at bedtime ready to wash out the following day. I found it absorbed into the hair well and made the ends less dry while also holding on to the perfectly balanced aroma. It was easy to wash out the following morning, taking only one shampoo to eradicate any traces from my hair unlike other hair oils which I find need a second wash to fully rinse it out.

8. Mix with Creams and Serums

The final way in which Mean Green Superfood Drops can be incorporated into your skincare routine is by mixing with creams and other serums to give them an extra skin-nourishing boost which was particularly useful as the weather turned cooler. I mixed this with my facial moisturiser, an unscented body oil and a body butter to create a more intensive foot cream. Each application gave great results, with just a few drops making the product go further and adding that beautiful aroma. Performance wise, I feel the nourishing benefits were certainly longer lasting, especially when using in a facial cream, and I liked the way it made my body butter slightly easier to rub into my feet. I love the way this can supercharge your existing skincare without disrupting your beauty regime. A great way to make your current skincare more Winter ready as we brace the harsher elements and central heating which can take its toll on our skin.

It is safe to say that Beauty Cleanse Skincare’s Men Green Superfood Drops have been a great edition to my own beauty routine with incredible results on both skin, hair and nails. I love the versatility of the drops, allowing you to customise skincare and your routine with a product that would make the ideal travel companion. Yes, it is a slightly more premium price yet you get so much for your money, not only beautiful ingredients that really make light work of tackling dry and dehydrated skin, hair and nails but also leave that beautiful aroma in its wake that really is something very special indeed.
