I am a big fan of beauty boxes, especially when they contain some incredible British beauty brands that are ethical, Earth Conscious and all cruelty-free. When one of my favourite beauty boxes decided to stop trading at the end of last year (goodbye Skin Organics Clean Beauty Box!), it was time to look elsewhere and that’s when I stumbled upon EcoBox.

EcoBox are an eco-friendly, monthly subscription service that are dedicated to sharing their love of small, British brands along with their passion for all things green. Everything from the products selected in each box, to the simplistic packaging that is fully recyclable and biodegradable showcases the determination to reduce the impact upon the environment. What I particularly enjoyed was their simple purchasing process, as I opted to buy January’s edit as a stand-alone box yet could have chosen from three other options to subscribe to the following month’s box – plus there’s free shipping on all orders! Their dedication to the environment is great to see, yet the contents of the box was what really drew me in and made me want to explore the Fresh Faced box for myself…

Moonie: Reuseable Cotton Rounds

I am a huge fan of reusable facial cloths yet I don’t have any cotton-round sizes such as this in my current stash. The rounds are handmade using biodegradable brushed cotton fabric and over-locked around the edges so they won’t fray and will have a longer life than many others on the market.

The darker material is not only incredibly soft on the skin but also makes them a great solution if you don’t want to stain your facial cloths with make-up, mascara and face masks. They wash well, with only a little shrinkage, and don’t take too long to dry on the radiator. They have been a great solution to remove my eye make-up as they are the perfect size and allow me to remove all traces of mascara without getting staining my white cloths in the process. As well as general cleansing tasks, the cotton rounds are also suitable to use with toner and acid solutions too, making them a great all-rounder for all aspects within your skincare routine.

Nathalie Bond: Bloom Face Mist

If you’ve followed me for a while you’ll know that I love a good facial mist and rosewater is staple within my beauty routine due to its many benefits on the skin. The 100% organic rosewater has a lovely, naturally sweet aroma that really refreshes the skin and the senses alike.

I personally love to use this after cleansing in the evening to dampen my skin before applying my skincare, while also bringing the calming and refreshing benefits to my skin at the end of the day. This would also be a great addition to your daily routine too, spritzing to refresh the skin when it’s warm or if you’ve been in the central heating. If you’re looking for a great quality rosewater then this might just be the one for you.

Lucky Cloud: Nourishing Cleansing Balm

Nothing fills me with joy more than hearing the words ‘nourishing’ and ‘cleansing balm’ in a sentence, so it is no surprise that this was the first product I tried when opening my box for the first time. Lucky Cloud have been a brand on my wish list for a while so it has been nice to finally try them out, especially as I’ve heard so many good things about their products.

This gorgeous cleansing balm contains some beautiful ingredients such as organic jojoba, thistle seed oil, soybean oil, macadamia nut oil, castor oil, vitamin e – and an essential oil blend of geranium, neroli and sandalwood. The balm has a lovely silky texture that spreads across the skin with ease, eradicating all traces of make-up, SPF and impurities without leaving the skin feeling dry or tight in any way. My skin was left feeling clean, soft and smooth after use, with no dry patches at all. It felt much more like a treatment on the skin, helping to cleanse and nourish in one step, with a lovely light floral aroma with sandalwood ensuring that the scent isn’t too sweet. I have been reaching for this time and time again and will certainly be exploring the brand further in the not-so-distant future.

Upcircle: Face Serum

I am a huge fan of Upcircle’s ethos, with ethical practices and sustainably at it’s core – while also ensuring their product range remains affordable for all. This was my first experience of using their face serum, and although I haven’t been using it for very long, first impressions have been great so far. Now i’m not usually a big fan of the scent of coffee but I have to say that I have been loving the aroma of coffee oil in the facial serum which gives it its brightening properties for an all-year glow.

Alongside coffee oil, which is made from recycled grounds, Upcircle’s Face Serum also contains skin loving ingredients such as Sea Buckthorn, Rosehip, Jojoba, Raspberry Seed Oil and Calendula to name just a few. The serum itself is lightweight, yet feels intensely nourishing on the skin with a highly absorbent formulation that sits really nicely alongside other products. This has left my skin feeling deeply moisturised after use and I love how a small amount really goes a long way. I will be reporting back after testing this out for a few more weeks, but so far, I have to say that I have been very impressed with the short-term results i’ve experienced so far.

My first experience with EcoBox has been great, with the fresh faced box giving you everything you need to kick-start a green beauty routine. I feel like the box has been curated with purpose, not only from an environmental standpoint but the box contents all work in harmony together. This has not only introduced me to some lovely products but also great brands that I can’t wait to explore further. If you are looking at ways to make your routine, or beauty deliveries, a little more Earth conscious, then I highly recommend you check out EcoBox.
