|Gifted| The Wild Nettle Co were among my favourite brand discoveries of 2020, as each product I tried exceeded my expectations, taking the humble nettle and creating incredible products that are both affordable and highly effective…
As someone with thick hair prone to dry ends and the occasional scalp irritation, hair oils are a favourite product of mine and an essential within my hair care routine. However, the difficulty I have is that more often than not, I find a hair oil that is a great treatment for my dry ends yet struggles to tackle my scalp issues – or vice versa – and then some are incredibly difficult to wash out, especially when used overnight.
Thankfully, I have found a hair oil that performs on all levels, with a nourishing formulation that is calming and lightweight, making it incredibly easy to rinse out. The Wild Nettle Co’s All Natural Nettle Hair Oil is a natural, cruelty-free and vegan formulation that contains only 7 ingredients to promote all-round hair and scalp health. These oils include:
- Nettle-infused organic extra virgin olive oil,
- Argan oil,
- Castor oil,
- Jojoba oil,
- Vitamin E,
- Rosemary essential oil,
- Peppermint essential oil.
These ingredients are certainly hair (and scalp) heroes, with the blend promising to calm and soothe scalp irritations, reduce hair loss, eliminate dandruff, stimulate blood flow and promote hair growth, all while ensuring that both the hair and scalp remain nourished and free from dryness. The carefully selected oils have also made the oil itself a pleasure to use as not only does the lightweight formulation apply easily to the scalp, with a small amount going a long way, but when applied to the hair, it washes out easily and doesn’t leave any residue or heaviness behind. What makes this even more special is the beautiful, balanced minty aroma that remains on your hair during use and provides an energising treat for your senses as well as goodness for your hair and scalp.
I use this in my hair care routine around 2 – 3 times a week, sometimes integrating as quick 30 minute pre-wash treatment or overnight treatment (or daytime treat during lockdown!). It instantly soothes the scalp on application, calming any itchy areas including patches of eczema that often occur at the nape of my neck. It really does help to eradicate any dryness around my hairline and leave my scalp feeling in great condition. When it comes to my hair, the benefits just keep on coming, as my hair is softer and more manageable after use and the more I use it, the more i’ve discovered that I don’t need conditioner after application – saving on shower time 3 days a week! I have even found that a tiny amount warmed between my fingers and combed through dry hair also helps control any flyaways and give a lovely shine without weighing hair down. Don’t forget that any remaining oil left on your hands is great to use on nails and cuticles too, nourishing the nail bed and preventing dry cuticles without the need to use any additional product.
If you are looking for a new hair oil that promotes a healthy hair and scalp then look no further than The Wild Nettle Co’s All Natural Nettle Hair Oil. This has become a firm favourite in my hair care routine, so much so that I have already repurchased a replacement. What I love is that it is great quality, highly effective yet also very affordable, showing that great natural products don’t need to break the bank. If your hair needs some TLC, especially during lock down, then this is a great place to start. I can honestly say that after using for several months, it is the best hair and scalp oil i’ve found to date and I wouldn’t be without this in my hair care supplies.
