When I saw a sneak peek of the products inside May’s edit of The Natural Beauty Box, I immediately made a purchase. The box value was an impressive £50.75 and featured a great selection of brands and product sizes which suited the Invigorate theme so well…

I purchased a one of box for just £25.95 including postage, but with several subscription plans to choose from, you can get a monthly box for as little as £23.00/month. The Natural Beauty Box is not only great value for money but has introduced me to so many incredible brands over the years. May’s box featured some firm favourites and new discoveries, with a selection of products that have delivered some great results – so much so, that I couldn’t wait to share my first impressions with you!

Niskama Skincare: Organic Face Oil

I have tried a few products from Niskama Skincare and have always been impressed with the high quality skincare and very affordable prices; and their Organic Face Oil is certainly no exception.

The facial oil is designed for all skin types, but incredibly beneficial for those who have sensitive, irritated or particularly problematic skin concerns. This is because the oil has been formulated with some truly beautiful ingredients that are great for soothing the skin and reducing breakouts, including organic wheat germ, organic tamanu oil, organic sweet almond oil, sunflower oil, vitamin E and calendula extract.

The oil itself has a lovely rich texture that absorbs into the skin with ease, leaving it feeling moisturised and rejuvenated. Now if you’re familiar with products containing tamanu oil in them, I don’t need to tell you that the scent is quite unique and very difficult to describe. It has a deep nutty aroma, that is almost spicy and earthy, which can be a little off-putting at first sniff. Yet when used for a few applications, you don’t really notice it and the benefits of the oil certainly outweigh the aroma. It sits beautifully on the skin, soothes redness and irritation and leaves skin feeling soft and less flaky. If you have sensitive, or acne-prone skin, and are looking for an affordable but great quality oil, then this is certainly the one for you.

Nakin Skincare: Eye Cream Complex

I am a big Nakin Skincare fan and as I was searching for a new eye product, this couldn’t have come at a better time. I personally like a pot of eye cream as not only can you gauge the amount of product you want to use with ease, but you also use every last drop making it great value for money.

The eye cream has the most beautiful, cooling texture – like a very lightweight cold cream – which not only hydrates the under eye but also gives a nice base for make-up too. The Eye Cream Complex is formulated to reduce the appearance of fine lines, dark circles and puffiness, and while I can’t comment on the long term effects just yet, this has been a great addition to my skincare routine. I will continue to use this over the coming weeks and let you know how I get on but as far as first impressions are concerned, this one has really delivered so far.

Sintra Naturals: Vegan Camellia Nourishing Hair Serum

As someone with thick hair, heat protectors are my hair’s best friend as not only do they keep my tresses well protected even when heat styling (which takes an age!) but they also keep my hair soft and nourished too.

This was my first experience using Sintra Naturals products but it certainly won’t be my last. The Vegan Camellia Nourishing Hair Serum is lightweight, multi-use and has a lovely light sandalwood aroma. What I love in particular is that this can be used on both wet or dry hair, giving you the versatility as a heat protection/pre-styling product or to smooth hair and protect it from environmental factors when dry. On wet hair, it really helped up my blow-dry game, with a smoother finish and less static without any greasy residue. On dry hair, it gave my hair a lovely shine while maintaining its bounce and vitality, which was a little surprising but certainly welcomed! If you’re looking for an ethical styling product that protectsas well as improve the look and feel of your hair, this is one for you.

Organic Works: Bergamot Shower Gel

Although i’m a soap bar kinda girl, I still like to switch up my body cleansing routine occasionally with a shower gel and this certainly fits the bill. I already had a previous experience with Organic Works’ Lavender Shower Gel (you can see my review here) so was excited to see how the bergamot version compared.

The citrus aroma is fresh and uplifting, treating the senses to an energising blend that is perfectly balanced and great for morning showers. On the skin, it forms a creamy lather and rinses away with ease, leaving skin feeling clean, soft and revitalised. This has been a real hit within my shower routine and it’s no surprise that it is a finalist in the 2021 Natural Health Beauty Awards. If you’re looking for a shower gel that is perfect for the Summer then this should be top of your list.

Organic Works: Cleansing Face Wash

I’m not usually a fan of facial washes as I find they sometimes leave my dry skin feeling a little tight, however Organic Works is one of the best i’ve tried. The Cleansing Face Wash has a texture unlike any other facial wash i’ve encountered, with a very thick formulation that goes a long way when applying to the skin.

It creates a beautiful lather and after rinsing away, didn’t leave my face feeling dry or stripped in any way. The scent and formulation made the overall cleansing experience a joy and as an AM cleanse, or second cleanse, this is a great affordable option that delivers on its promises.
