The wait is finally over and the winners of the Free From Skincare Awards 2024 have finally been revealed!
I was very fortunate to judge the Digital Presence category on the free from skincare awards for the second year running, as well as being a tester for this years skincare categories. If you’re not familiar with the Free From Skincare Awards, you can find more about them in my previous review here.
There were some very worthy winners this year across all categories, and I couldn’t wait to share the winners I had the privilege of testing, alongside those products in my skincare stash that managed to scoop some medals. Check out all the winners below, as a well as a brief excerpt of my overall findings of each one…
Bronze Medal Winners
LUS Aromatherapy Rejuvenating Avocado Face Cream – Bronze, Face Care (Leave On) – “The cream is designed to plump, soften and smooth which it certainly achieves. The texture is where the face cream really excels as it is so rich yet absorbs nicely on the skin without feeling too heavy. I feel this exceeded my expectations and certainly improved both the look and feel of my skin over the course of the testing”.
Just Be Natural Be Natural intensive Lip Balm – Bronze, Lip Care – “The natural aroma of cocoa butter was lovely and the texture [was] nice and easy to use. The lip balm did feel nice when it was applied {and} I like the fact that this is a fragrance free balm as it didn’t irritate my eczema on the edge of my lip/corner of my mouth.”
Mother Sage CBD Body Oil – Bronze, Body and Bath Oils – “The texture, absorbency and the aroma make this a really nice product to use daily as it leaves skin instantly silky smooth to the touch, and allows you to go about your daily life with ease”.
Amaranthine Superactive Day Cream – Bronze, Face Care (Leave On) – “To have a product suit such a wide variety of skin types and lifestyles is a game changer, and Amaranthine’s Superactive Day Cream does it effortlessly with each application. The ingredients make my skin look and feel at it’s best all day long and the packaging makes it the gift that keeps on giving”.
Casa Mencarelli ACQUA DI MIELE Honey & Orange Toner – Bronze, Toners & Waters – “The beautiful Honey and Orange Toner is formulated with mature, sensitive and acne prone skin in mind yet worked wonders on my dry skin too thanks to the moisturising, soothing honey and gently exfoliating orange blossom water that helps to reduce the appearance of pores and leave skin feeling soft, smooth and revitalised”.
Odylique Cream Foundation – Bronze, Free From Achievement Award – “As well as the great […] shade range, I have also been very impressed with the formulation aimed at drier skin types. As someone with dry and dehydrated skin, I’m pleased to report that I’m enjoying the creamy consistency that offers great coverage without clinging to any dry patches”.
Silver Medal Winners
Tilk! Dermacare Body Cream – Silver, Body Care (Leave On) – “This certainly delivered on it’s promises over the testing period, not only keeping my dry skin incredibly moisturised for long periods of time, but also reducing redness and irritation for my eczema flare-up’s. I wasn’t expecting the body cream to perform as well as it did, but it left a lasting impression on my skin for sure!”
Bemora SOS Recovery Eye Cream – Silver, Eye Care – “I feel like the eye cream certainly delivered on its promise of deeply nourishing the skin and brightening the eye area. I am yet to see any improvement in fine lines however it certainly made my under eyes – and eye lid – look and feel better on both touch and appearance. It certainly exceeded my initial expectations and for an eye cream, wasn’t as heavy as I was expecting”.
Bodhi Naturae Extra Glow Serum – Silver, Face Care (Leave On) – “At the end of the testing period, my skin was looking and feeling intensely hydrated and moisturised after use [and] it was certainly looking plumper and fresher throughout the day”.
OH Oils Miracle Confidence Hair Oil – Silver, Hair Care – “After 4 weeks of testing, my hair is softer, stronger and feels full of life without feeling heavy or weighed down in any way. The results improved with each application, with overnight usage producing much better results. For me, it is the texture that stands out from others on the market as it isn’t too thick or greasy in the hair and washes out easily”
Dr Organic Tea Tree Heel Balm – Silver, Hands, Nails and Feet – “The heel balm really delivered on its promises as it left my feet feeling softer, smoother and nourished all day, improving the dryness and slight cracks on my heels over the month of daily testing. The texture was where the heel balm really excelled as glided on easily and left feet feeling silky as opposed to sticky like other footcare products”.
Gower Lavender Lavender & Laver Seaweed Soap – Silver, Soap Bars – “The nourishing bar has left my skin feeling squeaky clean but never dry throughout the testing period, and the way it has been long lasting is testament to the amazing quality. It has far exceeded my initial expectations and has certainly left a good lasting impression”.
Lyonsleaf Beauty Balm – Silver, Face Care (Leave On) – “I have really enjoyed the performance of the Beauty Balm as the silky, smooth consistency and nourishing effect on my skin has been exceptional. The redness around my nose has definitely improved in both texture and appearance, and it hasn’t caused me to breakout at all during use”.
Attitude Face Cleanser – Silver, Face Care (Rinse Off) – ” The brand promises that the cleanser will condition the skin, replenish the skin’s moisture barrier and maintain the skin’s natural moisture content which is certainly what i’ve experienced. My skin never feels tight after use, only softer and smoother after the 4 weeks of testing”.
SILMACHY Cosmetics Peppermint and Chamomile Deodorant – Silver, Deodorants – “This deodorant certainly delivered on all of its promises as it protected against moisture and odour, and kept my underarms free from any dryness or irritation throughout the course of the testing period”.
Lyonsleaf Calendula & Marshmellow Balm – Silver, Problem Skin – “It is safe to say that the balm delivered on it’s promise to help relieve very dry skin and soothe problematic skin concerns. It is a jar that is perfect to keep at hand for any skincare emergency and seems to tackle any skin concern with ease. This certainly exceeded my expectations as it dramatically changed the appearance and feel of my skin in a short space of time”.
Leonie Botanics Sweet Dreams Rejuvenating Face Oil – Silver, Face Oils/Oil Serums – “The oil has a lovely, light fruity aroma and glides across the skin, removing all traces of SPF, make-up and daily impurities before transforming into milky emulsion that rinses away with ease. My skin is always left feeling soft and smooth after use, with any irritation feeling soothed and my complexion looking fresher and brighter after continued use. I find myself keep reaching for this time and time again as it delivers incredible results with each use”.
Casa Mencarelli BELLISSIMA BALM Sea Buckthorn Balm – Silver, Problem Skin – “If you’re looking for a balm that provides an intense level of moisturisation and leaves skin looking bright yet not greasy then I believe Bellissima Balm is certainly the product for you.
