Guiltless Skin is a British skincare brand which prides itself on using ingredients which are both great for the skin and great for the environment. Their beauty products, which are all organic, vegan and cruelty free, are made in microbatches to ensure the best possible product reaches the customer. All the ingredients used are Fairtrade and sustainably sourced which means not only are you using good quality products, but you are also using an ethical brand too.

I recently won a Twitter competition from Guiltless Skin and received a package containing Charcoal Soap and Jojoba and Shea Whipped Butter. As this was my first time trying products from the brand, I was excited to see how these natural products performed!

Firstly, the Charcoal Soap was a completely new experience for me as I’ve never used anything quite like it. The activated charcoal promises to rid toxins and dirt from the skin while the jojoba, olive and coconut oils rejuvenate and hydrate (as well as providing antioxidants for the skin!). The addition of Shea butter to the soap promotes tissue regeneration and gives it a moisturising boost. Surprisingly, for a handmade soap, you do get a creamy lather which leaves your skin literally squeaky clean, feeling nourished and not dry at all. Even my eczema-prone didn’t flare up and I experienced no skin irritation at all. This ‘Just Charcoal Soap’ has certainly exceeded my expectations and I can’t wait to try more soap from the range.

Out of the two products I received from Guiltless Skin, the Jojoba and Shea Whipped Butter was the one which excited me the most. You all know how much I love a multi-tasking product and this one certainly delivers in versatility. The whipped butter, containing shea butter and jojoba oil, has the closest texture to actual butter than any other body butter I’ve tried in the past. It is thick and rich, yet melts on the fingertips. It leaves your skin with a lovely sheen and feels incredibly moisturised for several hours. As jojoba oil has been proven to help with dry skin and eczema, it really helped with my allergy-induced skin irritations and generally left my skin feeling more nourished and in better condition. The whipped butters can also be used on the face as a make-up remover and moisturiser, on dry, chapped lips and as an intensive hair treatment. I’ve been using this for nearly a month now and I’m still only halfway down the tin (a little certainly goes a long way!). It’s fair to say that this will be staying part of my skincare routine for the foreseeable future and I’ll definitely be trying more whipped butters very soon.
