I am always on the lookout for small businesses who offer a range of handcrafted skincare and have a dedication to wellness, great skin and the environment, something which is the epitome of Wild as the Wind.
Rachel Wild started her UK essential oils and natural skincare brand back in 2017 after many years as a health writer. Having years of experience within the health and wellbeing sector, as well as a passion for skincare, Rachel knew of the several skin and wellbeing benefits essential oils have and now stocks her own handmade facial oils, healing herbs bach flower remedies and a vast array of UK essential oils and carrier oils on her website. Not only is the brand dedicated to health and wellness, they are also incredibly Earth-conscious too, stocking their blends in glass bottles with aluminium lids, using reusable pipettes for facial oils and reusing packaging from their suppliers to eradicate waste.

I have recently been lucky enough to try out the brand’s bestselling facial oils, both of which are cruelty free and vegan friendly. The two blends offer an holistic experience by treating the skin and senses alike with unique formulations that target a wealth of skin concerns and are perfect for all skin types.
Wild as the Wind: Facial Oil No 2 – £17.00/10ml
|AD – PR Product| Facial Oil No.2 is a smoothing and calming blend that is naturally rich in vitamin A, C and E and essential fatty acids. The skin loving ingredients made this one exceptional on my drier skin type yet the rich oil is still highly absorbent and non-greasy on the skin:
- Organic Sweet Almond Oil,
- Organic Jojoba Oil,
- Organic Wildcrafted Rosehip Oil,
- Organic Argan Oil,
- Organic Pomegranate Oil,
- Organic Sea Buckthorn Oil,
- Organic Lavender Essential oil,
- Organic Geranium Rose Essential Oil,
- Organic Sweet Orange Essential Oil,
- Organic Frankincense Essential Oil,
- Organic Myrrh Essential Oil,
- Organic Patchouli Essential Oil,
- Mysore Sandalwood Essential Oil,
- Organic Rose Otto Essential Oil.

The essential oil blend has incredible depth with a fresh and slightly fruity aroma taking on a warmer woody scent on the skin. I love how the aroma lingers over time, allowing you to enjoy the scent long after application. My skin really enjoyed this formulation, looking more radiant after use and maintaining the moisturising benefits all day long.

After around 6 weeks of use, my skin certainly looked brighter in its appearance and was softer and smoother to the touch. I think this nutrient-rich oil was possibly my favourite of the two blends as I feel it really improved my dry and dull skin, making it look healthier and glowing after continued use.
Wild as the Wind: Facial Oil No 8 – £17.00/10ml
|AD – PR Product| Facial Oil No 8 was certainly a lovely product to use during the warmer weather as the light formulation, with calming and anti-inflammatory properties, makes it the perfect companion for Summer skin. The antioxidant-rich oil is great on all skin types yet is fantastic for mature skin or those who suffer with hyperpigmentation or inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis:
- Organic Evening Primrose Oil,
- Organic Safflower oil,
- Organic Grapeseed Oil,
- Organic Jojoba Oil,
- Organic Carrot Seed Oil,
- Organic Bergamot Essential Oil,
- Organic Clary Sage Essential Oil,
- Organic Frankincense Essential Oil,
- Organic Citronella Essential Oil,
- Organic Geranium Rose Essential Oil,
- Organic Helichrysum Essential Oil,
- Organic German Chamomile Essential Oil.

The blue-hue is calming just like some of its beautiful ingredients that certainly helped to calm and reduce the redness around my nose and patches of eczema that occurred when hayfever hit. The scent is slightly more subtle than it’s richer sibling, with a fresh yet herbal aroma that doesn’t linger on the skin too long. Even though I enjoyed this, and my skin reaped the benefits of the beautiful inci list, I gave this to my Mum to try as she has a few patches of sun damage on her hands and face that would benefit from this particular blend. After several weeks of use, she noticed a difference in the texture of the sun damage patches as her skin was smoother, softer and the patches were less dry. She is continuing using this for a few more weeks to see the true effects but she is impressed so far.

It is safe to say that my first Wild as the Wind experience has been a positive one, with each facial oil delivering great results with each application. I loved the sensory experience with each product and the brand ethos is certainly one to be admired. If you’re looking for facial oils – or UK essential oils – that deliver on their promises and have an effect on both the skin and senses alike then Wild as the Wind’s products are certainly the ones for you
