|AD – PR Products| A new year often signifies a change within our lives, whether it be resolutions and new habits, or simply starting a new diary or calendar, there is something to be said about having a fresh start. So when it comes to our beauty routines, the new year is a great time to have a sort out and replace old or out of date items with new, ethical products. As our make-up is often the most neglected, and the part of our beauty collection that harbours the most hidden bacteria, it really is the best place to start.

Thankfully Lavera make it easy and affordable to get your make-up bag back to full health, with a range of natural, cruelty-free and vegan products that deliver great results. The brand have over 40 years experience in the natural beauty industry, with a range of products that don’t compromise on quality regardless of their affordability.
I have chosen a selection of products that not only perform incredibly well but also ones that are perfect for green beauty novices and enthusiasts alike. I find that some of the products can be used in a multitude of ways – outside of their intended use – to give you even more value for money and versatility.
Lavera: Mineral Skin Tint – £19.90/30ml

As someone with a dry skin type, I struggle to find any base product that doesn’t cling to dry patches or go cakey throughout the day. Thankfully, Lavera’s Mineral Skin Tint is a beautifully light tint that just evens out the complexion, leaving behind a subtle glow that looks like my skin, but better. The hydrating ingredients, such as Co-enzyme Q10, Aloe Vera and Glycerin, leaves my skin feeling comfortable throughout the day without causing any irritation, dryness or redness. I personally enjoyed applying the Lavera Mineral Skin Tint with a brush, as I found it left a better finish on my skin as opposed to using my fingers, and I was pleasantly surprised how the lighter shade (Natural Ivory 02), didn’t oxidise during wear.
Lavera: Soft Glow Highlighter – £13.35

I am a big fan of highlighter and the Soft Glow Highlighter from Lavera is great value for money. The finely-milled power is a shimmery highlighter that gives a lovely subtle, sparkle to the skin, leaving your complexion looking brighter and illuminated. Despite this being a highlighter, I personally prefer to use this as an eyeshadow, as I feel it makes my eyes pop and is incredibly versatile in its uses. Firstly, as a subtle, neutral shadow, simply apply with a fluffy brush to give a delicate wash over the lid. To intensify the highlighter into slightly stronger shimmer, use a flat, dense brush or your finger tip across the mobile lid for a truly brightening effect. If you’re looking for a more intense, almost foiled look, you can also wet your brush and apply to the whole lid, or take a thinner brush and use as a neutral eye liner above the lower lashes or to the inner corner to awaken your eyes. You can of course also add a little of the powder to the Mineral Skin Tint if your skin is looking a little lack-lustre; this will make your complexion look even more bright and glowing.
Lavera: Lash to Impress Mascara – £18.40

I love discovering a mascara that delivers on all of its promises, and Lavera’s Lash to Impress certainly went beyond my expectations. The Lash to Impress mascara contains organic castor oil to help condition the lashes while also being perfect for contact-lens users. The brush, with its unique hour-glass shape, helps to create volume as well as length on lashes which gives them a curl that you’d expect from a more expensive product. The brand promote this as smudge-proof, which I completely agree with, lasting all day with only minor flaking after several hours in the Winter weather. I have to say that I enjoyed both the brush and formulation of this particular mascara and would recommend to anyone looking for a mascara that delivers a voluminous look for a fraction of the cost.
Lavera: Tinted Lip Balm (Pink Smoothie 02) – £7.85

I would always opt for a lip balm over a lipstick for everyday use, especially in the Winter months, so this one from Lavera looked like a product for me. The Pink Smoothie shade is a cool-toned hue that is buildable in colour, giving lips a demi-matte pink appearance that actually gives the appearance of a lipstick than a tinted lip balm which I actually enjoyed.

As someone with a dry skin type, I also like to use tinted lip balms to give a dewy blush of colour to the cheeks, keeping dry patches at bay with a natural flush that is effortless and easy to achieve. The pigment is also incredibly long-lasting, making this great value for money.

Has this inspired you to refresh your make-up bag for the year ahead? Don’t forget to head over to lavera to find more affordable, natural beauty products.
