is a newly established online retailer, based right here in the UK. They pride themselves on sourcing goods from British suppliers who provide earth-conscious products which are both affordable and great quality. Through the determination of it’s team, and over 450 products listed on their website already, Caidn is certainly one to watch.

The lovely Arron and Emily recently sent me some goodies to try out*, and I have to say that I’ve been really impressed with the items I received.

Olive Oil Artisian Soap Slice – ‘Seaweed’ and ‘Propolis’

All the beautiful soaps available on are all free-from parabens a cruelty-free, and some are also vegan friendly and SLS free. These artisan olive oil soaps are all handmade using a traditional cold-pressed technique, and promise to soften skin and improve skin tone. As well as this, all the soaps have a different main ingredient which has it’s own beneficial properties, so you can select the one which is best for you.

The seaweed olive oil artisan soap slice helps to naturally exfoliate the skin and is a great treatment for fluid retention and cellulitis (hooray!). The scent is absolutely gorgeous, as it is really fresh and energising, and it creates a creamy lather which leaves skin feeling soft and squeaky clean.

As Propolis is such a natural skincare wonder, this soap adopts all it’s properties, which include it being anti-viral and anti-allergic, and also a great way to treat infections, acne and skin conditions such as psoriasis. This soap has a pungent honey scent, as expected, and the thick lather feels very nourishing. My skin, including some dry patches of eczema, felt very moisturised after use and the honeycomb-textured top also helped to lightly exfoliate the skin.

£3.25/slice (Comes in a range of scents/ingredients)

Japanese Konjac Sponge – ‘Natural’

I’ve heard so much about Japanese Konjac sponges, which are an all-natural deep cleansing sponge designed to buff, cleanse and remove excess oils from the skin – just by using water! Due to the sponge’s structure, water creates a barrier between the sponge and the skin preventing any damage or over-buffing which makes it perfect for those with a sensitive skin type. It also promotes cell renewal and stimulates blood flow to the face, making it an excellent anti-aging product too.

The sponge itself is very hard and needs to be immersed in water for a few minutes before use to soften, where is takes on a squidgy texture. It feels nice on the skin, and unlike other sponges it has a slight firmness to it. It is a very strange notion to be cleansing without using any product, yet my face felt very fresh and smooth after use. The only slight negative is that it does take a long time to dry, however as it has a string handle, it easily hangs up ready for the next use. Would this substitute my usually cleansing routine? Probably not. However, I will be incorporating this into my routine as a second cleanse as my skin did feel great after use.

£4.50 (available in black, rose and natural).

Solid Shampoo Bars – ‘Tea Tree & Peppermint’ and ‘Coconut & Lime’

Solid shampoo bars are a great eco-friendly alternative to liquid shampoo, as it eradicates excessive packaging. Made from high-quality vegetable oils, they create a creamy lather which leaves hair feeling squeaky clean. The Tea Tree and Peppermint bar has a refreshing scent which is incredibly uplifting. It really leaves hair feeling fresh and clean and has removed a lot of product build-up which was weighing my hair down. The Coconut and Lime solid shampoo has a gorgeous tropical scent which really invigorates the senses. My hair felt bouncy and full of life after use and made my hair smell divine!

£2.85/bar (available in a range of scents for different hair types)

Soya Bean Jar Candle – ‘Fig and Cassis’

I always try to use Soybean candles when I can as they offer eco-friendly clean burning as they don’t contain any paraffin. Fig and Cassis is one of my favourite scents, especially during the winter months, so I was delighted with the fragrance radiating from the candle before it was even lit. After lighting, the scent subtlety fills the room in a few minutes and burns down the jar cleanly and evenly (and the best news is that it has a burn time of 30-35 hours!) The packaging and labelling of the product makes it the perfect gift, or gorgeous addition to your home. As they also come in a range of scents, there really is something for everyone.

£8.45 (Available in a range of colours/scents and sizes).

I have to say that i’ve really enjoyed using my products from Caidn, from the moment of unboxing, where I was hit by the beautiful fragrances from each product, to the experience and results of trying the selection of beauty treats. I can’t wait to try out more beauty products in the future, as well as some homewares and accessories too, as the range of products is truly amazing. It is also nice to support a small business that is newly established, rather than a large corporation, especially at Christmas time. I look forward to seeing grow from strength to strength and wish them all the luck in their business journey.

Take Care,
