I discovered Laidbare in my first LoveLula Beauty box back in January, and was so impressed with the quality of the product, that I couldn’t wait to try more from the brand…
There is nothing better than taking some time out at the end of the week and pampering your skin with a face mask. I tend to have a love/hate relationship with a lot of clay masks as I love them in order to give my skin a good detox, yet they often leave my dry skin feeling tight and in dire need of some moisture!
Laidbare’s ‘For Richer, For Porer’ mask is slightly different to other masks I’ve tried as not only does it cater for oily and combination skin types, it also suits mature, dry and problematic skin too. This is because the formula, which contains Kaolin Clay, Japanese Seaweed extract, Shea butter, liquorice and rose water formula also features natural microbeads to promote exfoliation and cell renewal.
Obviously the skin loving ingredients speak for themselves, but I must say that I was really impressed by the overall performance the mask had on my skin both short term and long term. After application my face felt smooth and my flaky skin, which is awful at this time of year, was completely eradicated. I felt that over the course of a week after use, my pores felt less clogged and the exfoliation effect certainly lasted a good few days after use. I personally haven’t noticed a reduction in the appearance of my pores yet, but I will update you when I’ve finished the product. What I did find is that I had no tightness, dry patches or irritation and overall my skin felt lovely. I did find the initial scent quite overpowering in liquorice, but this seemed to dissipate quickly when it was on the skin.
If you’re looking for a clay mask that’s affordable and suitable for most skin types, this is definitely the mask for you. I loved the way the natural microbeads gave that extra exfoliation and me feel like I was getting two products for the price of one! Laidbare have impressed me yet again and I can’t wait to try more from the brand.
