When it comes to aromatherapy based body oils, there is so much more than meets the eye as they are not only perfect for moisturising the skin but are also multi-functional and have incredible benefits for both mental and physical health.
I’ve recently been loving Inner Senses’ Tranquil Body Oil, a lightweight oil formulated to help bring calm and relaxation to your daily life. The lightweight oil is created from a blend of apricot kernel oil, jojoba seed oil and Vitamin E to intensely nourish the skin while leaving behind no heavy residue in its wake. The way in which Tranquil is so light means a little go a long way, and makes it the perfect oil to use within the bath, as a massage oil or even as a pulse point therapy oil.
The essential oil blend of Neroli, Lavender, Mandarin and Petitgrain not only helps to clear the mind to promote a sense of calm but the health and skincare benefits of each essence makes this an oil you’ll be glad to have within your beauty routine. Neroli has a beautifully sweet, floral aroma which can help alleviate stress, headaches, high blood pressure and anxiety. When it comes to skincare, neroli is a perfect essential oil within a body oil as not only is it perfect for fighting premature aging but it also helps reduce the appearance of scars, marks and stretch marks too. Lavender, as we all know is perfect for bringing calm and helping to relieve tension, but when utilised in skincare, it can also promote wound healing, ease muscle aches and help with skin conditions such as eczema and acne. The addition of mandarin and petitgrain not only adds to the calming element of Tranquil but can also boost circulation and prevent skin infections too.
Neroli is really the star of the show, as on application Tranquil is heady in Neroli yet is still perfectly balanced and not overpowering at all. After an hour, the other essences begin to shine through, with a subtle lavender aroma, zesty mandarin and slightly woody Petitgrain lingering on the skin. My very dry skin felt nourished and highly moisturised all day, with no dry patches or irritated areas. I love to use this in the daytime, as I really enjoy the scent which keeps tension at bay throughout the day, but I also enjoying utilising this oil in the evenings too as it helps calm my mind in preparation for a good nights sleep.
Tranquil really lives up to it’s name, as it is certainly an oil that brings an element of peace and tranquility to my daily life. I like the fact that I can apply and get dressed straightaway and don’t have to wait too long for it to soak in (as who has the time?!), yet it still leaves my skin feeling soft and ready for the day ahead. This is what will make Tranquil my perfect Summer product, as I think it will work well when the weather begins to get warmer. Tranquil is certainly a triumph, a clever blend that evolves throughout the day yet maintains its calming influence. If you’re looking for a body oil that is multi-use and great value for money, then Tranquil is the one for you.
