When this month’s Skin Organics Clean Beauty Box arrived I was thrilled with the glow-themed box that contained a variety of products that promised to brighten my skin and my beauty routine.

I love the way in which Skin Organics often include non-British brands in their boxes as it’s a great way to explore products from overseas easily and cost-effectively. May’s box contained two Danish brands, which i’ve never tried before, as well as some beautiful British products that I couldn’t wait to explore. The box arrived promptly and well-packaged as always, and I couldn’t wait to try the delights within…

Bowe Organics: Lip Balm

I tried Bowe Organics’ Lip Balm last month and have to say that it has been my go-to lip balm ever since. The beautiful balm contains carefully selected nourishing ingredients to moisturise, hydrate and soothe chapped lips as well as reducing the signs of aging. You can read my full review here, but this balm has certainly been keeping my lips in tip-top condition and i’m thrilled to top-up my supply as I can see this in my skincare routine for the long haul.

Bowe Organics Lip Balm: £6.00/6g – £11.00/20g
Lily Lolo: Natural Lipstick Scarlet Red

Lily Lolo products have been on my wishlist for a while so I was delighted to try one of their lipsticks in this month’s box. The beautifully packaged lipstick with a simplistic, monochrome design, is formulated with nourishing ingredients such as vitamin e, organic jojoba oil and rosemary extract, to deliver a creamy texture with radiant colour. The Scarlet Red shade is a sheer pinky-red lipstick that applies smoothly and gives lips a beautiful wash of colour. Despite it’s sheer appearance, the lipstick is incredibly buildable, with a few layers leaving behind a blue-red intense pop of colour that feels very comfortable on the lips and gives a lovely sheen. As far as first impressions go, I’m thrilled with the texture and colour pay-off from this lipstick, especially as I get two looks with minimal effort. I am yet to put this lipstick through it’s paces, as I have only tried it out for colour pay-off so far, but expect a full review of it’s wear and longevity coming very soon.

Lily Lolo Natural Lipstick: £9.50

Avocadeau: Avo’-Wash Facial Cleansing Bar

I tend to have a love/hate relationship with facial cleansing bars as they are sometimes a little too drying on my dry skin due to their soap-like quality. However, I have to say that Avocadeau’s Avo’wash Facial Cleansing Bar certainly surprised me with its performance. The bar itself, formulated with olive and avocado oil,  has a beautiful fresh scent which is perfectly balanced, light and refreshing and creates a creamy lather which rinses off the skin with ease. I’ve been using for just under a week and i’ve experienced no irritation, breakouts or dryness as the facial bar has left my skin feeling incredibly soft, clean and somewhat calmer in its appearance. For me, this has been the perfect plastic free AM cleanse and has also made for a lovely second cleanse in my PM routine too. It would make the perfect travel companion, especially as it comes in two sizes, and is also suitable for use as a body wash/soap too (making me very happy with the multi-use aspect!). My first impressions have been exceptional and I can’t wait to explore the brand further in the not-so-distant future.

Grums Aarhus: 2-in-1 Raw Coffee Hand Scrub and Wash

Even though I tend to stay away from coffee scrubs as I hate the mess, I was so excited to try this hand scrub from Grums, as I didn’t know what to expect from a hand scrub. My initial thoughts was that it was going to be exactly the same as a body scrub, but I couldn’t be more wrong! The scrub itself is more like a rich, smooth gel in texture as opposed to the gritty scrub I was expecting. It rinses off my hands easily and left them feeling soft, nourished and not stained like traditional coffee scrubs I’ve used in the past. I’ve only used this twice so far, but I feel like my hand cream was able to penetrate easier into the skin and it removed any dry skin from around my cuticles. Surprisingly, even though the scrub itself is strong in coffee scent, there was only a subtle hint of the coffee aroma remaining after use. I actually found this really useful this week when i’d been doing some painting around the house as it took the paint off my hands in seconds, saving me time and leaving my skin paint-free without any need for scrubbing. I have to say that this has really impressed me, as not only has the product performance wowed me, the way in which the brand are using green plastic in their packaging and have a ‘return to earn’ scheme also shows their dedication to the environment. This is definitely a brand to check out if you haven’t already as I cannot wait to see if their other products are as good as their Raw Coffee Hand Scrub.

Jorgobé: Hydrating Glow Serum

There’s nothing better than discovering a product in a beauty box that you instantly fall in love with, and this was certainly the case with Jorgobé’s Hydrating Glow Serum. This beautifully rich serum, which is surprisingly lightweight, not only smells incredible but also had an instant effect on my skin. Formulated with high quality oils including rosehip, avocado, blackcurrant seed and jojoba, as well rosemary and seaweed extracts, the skin loving serum helps to hydrate, stimulate collagen production, regenerate skin cells and improve elasticity. For me, Jorgobé’s Hydrating Glow Serum is an all-rounder,  with a blend that will aid hydration and moisture levels in dry and/or dehydrated skin as well as brightening a dull complexion. It is the perfect product within my skincare routine to brighten my skin and keep it looking dewy and full of life throughout the day. I personally love how the fresh and uplifting aroma remains on the skin after use as it is a true treat for the skin as well as the senses. I cannot wait to see how this shining light in skincare improves my skin over time, but with such good results after just one week, I’m excited to continue using this to see if it’s exceptional performance continues.

Jorgobé Hydrating Glow Serum: £34.00/30ml

This month’s Glow-themed Skin Organics Beauty Box has been amazing, with an array of brands and products that have certainly left me wanting to try more. Each product has performed exceptionally well on a short term basis and I can’t wait to keep trying each one to see how they continue to improve my beauty routine. The way that Skin Organics keep delivering on boxes that contain incredibly innovative products from clean, artisan brands is admirable and is certainly a factor that keeps me renewing my subscription each month.
