There are many indie beauty brands who formulate beautiful skincare, yet Skin Alchemists go beyond simple beauty products by creating a range that offers a truly relaxing experience that is a treat for mind, body and soul – as well as the skin – promoting a sense of wellbeing each time you perform your skincare rituals.
Skin Alchemists was born out of a personal struggle to regain balanced skin after a move away from St Lucia to London, and it is the passion for her native land and medicinal treatments that makes Theresa’s creations so special. Each item in the Skin Alchemists range is handcrafted and has its roots within the alchemy tradition of transformation, with a brand ethos that focuses upon transforming stunning natural ingredients into luxurious and decadent skincare that will have a positive impact upon your overall wellbeing as well as your skin.
Theresa creates a range of products that harnesses the true power of nature, combining organic, raw ingredients to formulate skincare guaranteed to offer a moment of self-love and treat the skin as well as the senses. I have tried several products from Skin Alchemists range and have to say that I have been blown away by the performance of each one. The experience of utilising each product is very different from any other, a wonderfully sensory practice that showcases the best that nature has to offer.
Skin Alchemists Intensive Skin Treatment* is something very different to anything i’ve personally used before yet after utilising it several times over the past few weeks, I’ve come to the conclusion that no pamper session is complete without this beautiful ritual that is sure to help de-stress after a hard day at work, and help bring peace and tranquillity to your body and mind.
The Intensive Skin Treatment is first and foremost a beautifully fragranced candle, housed in a lovely china vessel which can be easily re-purposed after use. The shea butter, Maracuja oil and cocoa butter base ensures that once the candle is lit, the oil will never get too hot due to the low melting point. After 15-20 minutes of burning, and approximately 2 minutes cooling time, the oil is ready to be poured onto the skin and utilised in your body care routine. The Intensive Skin Treatment comes in two fragrance options, Sweet Dreams and Midnight’s Serenade, with both offering relaxation and muscle soothing qualities while deeply nourishing the skin with the moisturising base.
Sweet Dreams has a beautiful, delicate aroma that contains a blend of lavender, amaryllis, passion flower, ylang ylang, palmarosa, nutmeg, pimento, geranium and bay to give a sweet aroma of ylang ylang and palmarosa that evolves into a floral, slightly herbaceous aroma once warmed.
On the skin, the warm oil feels glorious, with a lovely texture that makes for a relaxing massage that warms muscles and leaves behind deeply nourished skin in its wake. I have to say that I certainly felt relaxed after use and my skin reaped the benefits of the nourishing formulation that kept my skin feeling moisturised until my next shower/bath.
I’ve used this on several occasions and have been pleasantly surprised at the incredible value for money as you only use a very small amount on each application, as only a small well has formed in my Intensive Skin Treatment candle so far. It truly is the perfect pampering experience and is now part of my weekly skincare ritual for the foreseeable future.
Not only do Skin Alchemist’s Intensive Skin Treatment make a gorgeous treat for yourself but they also make the perfect gift too. They feature amongst some other beautiful gift ideas under £40.00 within my Natural Skincare Christmas Gift Guide which launched last week.
