Amaranthine: Superactive Day Cream Review

AD – PR Product| I have been a fan of Amaranthine for several years now and I’m continually blown away by the beautiful formulations that never fail to impress. The latest member of the Amaranthine family is the Superactive Day Cream, a facial moisturiser that has been created with combination skin in mind due to the lightweight texture and hydrating ingredients that leave skin with a matt finish.

As I have a dehydrated and dry skin type, I assumed this one wouldn’t be for me, however the list of stunning ingredients certainly made me change my mind. Amaranthine’s latest launch is so much more than just another face cream thanks to the the unique blend of key ingredients that makes the Superactive Day Cream far superior to any other facial cream I’ve ever used:

  • Blueberry NECTA® – Produced from upcycled blueberries from the juicing industry, this antioxidant-rich oil is proven to help fight free radical damage while helping to reduce fine lines and hyperpigmentation. It is also a great ingredient to help strengthen the skin’s barrier while absorbing blue light to reduce premature aging caused by electronic devices.
  • Barley TONIQ® – This oil, made from barley leftover from the beer industry, is incredibly soothing to help to calm redness and irritation while combating signs of aging.
  • Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kola) – A herb that is becoming increasingly popular within sensitive skincare, Centella Asiatica not only helps to calm redness and improve elasticity in the skin, but it also suppresses the acne inflammation response too.
  • Cosmetic Prebiotic -‍ This probiotic is derived from chickory root and sugar beet to balance the skin, reduce irritation and protect against environmental stresses.
  • Cucumber Seed Oil – An incredibly soothing ingredient, cucumber seed oil is great for calming any irritation while helping reduce the discomfort of breakouts. It is also an incredibly absorbent ingredient making it great on all skin types.

The formulation really does deliver on all of its promises, with an incredibly lightweight consistency that absorbs quickly and leaves a matt finish on the skin. As someone with a drier skin type, I usually avoid mattifying products entirely, yet this leaves my skin feeling nourished, hydrated, and incredibly comfortable throughout the day despite its lack of sheen on the skin. I may have fallen in love with the Superactive Day Cream after just one application, as it was my only positive mattifying skincare experience i’ve had. My skin is always left feeling soft to the touch and free from dry patches; something which is unheard of during the Summer to Autumn transition.

The scent is exactly what I look for in a day time product, with a luxurious spa-like aroma that is uplifting and fresh thanks to the perfectly balanced neroli and sweet orange aroma that is a treat for the skin and senses alike.

But it would do an injustice to the Superactive Day Cream not to mention how clever the the packaging is. The iconic, signature blue bottle that is recognisably Amaranthine is not only airless to eradicate product wastage and make it easy to use, but it is also refillable too. This means that not only are you helping to save the planet with each refill, but you also save money with each purchase too.

It is safe to say that Amaranthine’s new product is yet again, another triumph from the brand. To have a product suit such a wide variety of skin types and lifestyles is a game changer, and Amaranthine’s Superactive Day Cream does it effortlessly with each application. The ingredients make my skin look and feel at it’s best all day long and the packaging makes it the gift that keeps on giving.
