When I heard about The Natural Hygge, I have to say that I was incredibly excited about the concept and ethos behind the company, especially when I discovered the person behind the name.

The lovely Louise from The Beauty Bank launched That Natural Hygge at the start of September as an online store offering the very best of luxury, natural skincare and homewares to give you that perfect Hygge moment.

Hygge (pronounced ‘hoo-gah’), is a Danish concept of self care which encourages the use of warmth, light and home comforts in order to promote wellbeing, contentment and self-love which is often forgotten in the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

A white postcard with the words 'Kindness is a gift everyone can afford to give' is standing on a white background. On the left, slightly behind the card is a green plant in a white square pot.

Lou is certainly one of the most clued-up bloggers when it comes to skincare, so when the site launched, I felt perfectly at ease knowing that the products were going to be amazing – yet I didn’t know just how skin-changing they were going to be!

I was kindly sent a bespoke box of beauty treats perfectly suited to my skin type to celebrate the launch, and as far as first impressions go, it was one which had an immediate effect of the senses. The box was filled with dried rose buds and lavender which not only made the parcel look incredibly inviting, but it also smelt amazing too. All the products were nestled carefully in shredded paper and the whole parcel looked like it had been packed with love.

I’ve been using my goodies since they arrived, so thought i’d share my initial experiences so you know exactly what to expect from the products stocked on the site…

Isun Coco-Cucumber Creamy Facial Cleanser Sample

A small brown bottle with a white circle label is standing on a white background. On the left, slightly behind the bottle is a green plant in a white square pot.

This was my first experience with Isun products yet I’m sure it won’t be the last! I don’t often use a cream cleanser as personally for me, an oil and a balm usually work with my skin a little better than any other texture. That was until I used Isun’s Coco-Cucumber Creamy Facial Cleanser. The lightweight cream smells of freshly sliced cucumber with a subtle hint of coconut shining through. A small amount of cleanser spreads over the skin with ease and felt incredibly cool and soothing as I massaged it in. After rinsing with a muslin cloth, my skin felt the best it had done since the summer (as my skin really hates seasonal changes!).  I didn’t have any dry patches or experience any tightness at all, and even the small patch of eczema around my nose was thankful for the Coco-Cucumber cleanser which calmed the redness down in an instant and kept my skin feeling hydrated and super-smooth. I wouldn’t hesitate to repurchase this in the future, as I definitely saw an improvement in my skin in such a short space of time, and I can’t wait to explore more of Isun’s range of facial products.

Bodhi and Birch: Super 25 Botanical Serum Sample

A black dropper bottle with a white and black label standing on a white background. On the left, slightly behind the bottle is a green plant in a white square pot.

When I opened my box and saw a Bodhi and Birch product, I couldn’t contain my excitement as they have been on my wishlist for quite some time. The Super 25 Botanical Serum is a beautiful blend of 25 nut, fruit, berry and seed oils which are designed to target signs of aging and skin degeneration while promoting a more radiant appearance. As someone with a dry skin type, an oil-based serum is a life-saver, and this one was certainly no exception. The oil itself is rich yet when applied to the face, it doesn’t feel heavy or greasy and simply melts into the skin. I love the natural earthiness of the scent that truly harnesses the very concept of the brand itself. As for my skin, it instantly felt nourished, and had a dewy finish which made my skin look healthy and less lack lustre. I have to say that a little serum went a long way, and the results were impressive in a short space of time. A full sized version is already on my wish list, as the quality and effects on my skin have certainly left me wanting more.

Alteya Organics: Organic Illuminating Perfecting Face Serum

An off-white glass bottle with gold and silver writing is standing on a white background. On the left, slightly behind the bottle is a green plant in a white square pot and to the right in the background is the product box which is grey with white and gold writing.

Alteya Organics are my go-to brand when it comes to rose water mists so I couldn’t wait to try a product from their Rose Jasminium range. This incredibly lightweight serum smells divine, with fresh rose and heady jasmine providing a treat for the senses as well as the skin. Despite the weightless texture, the formula is still incredibly hydrating as my skin feels silky smooth in an instant, and my complexion has definitely been more radiant since I began using it a few weeks ago. My face doesn’t dry out throughout the day and the texture of my skin has certainly improved. What I love most about the Illuminating Perfecting Serum is that it actually repairs skin damage that has occurred throughout the day, and on a long term basis, will improve skin’s resilience to daily stresses. This one for me is definitely a keeper, and I can’t wait to try more from their exciting range of skin enhancing products.

100 Acres: Rose and Lavender Bubble Bath

white plastic bottle with a a green and white decorative label featuring black writing is standing on a white background. On the left, slightly behind the bottle is a green plant in a white square pot.

This was the first time i’d heard of the 100 Acres brand, but the beautiful packaging certainly made a good first impression. The Rose and Lavender fragrance is lovely a light, not too overpowering and allows each predominate scent to shine through. A small amount creates ample bubbles which last a good amount if time in the bath. I have to say that relaxing in a warm 100 Acres bubble bath was a lovely treat for my skin, which felt soft with no tightness at all. If you’re looking a bubble bath product that delivers, then look no further than 100 Acres, as you certainly won’t beat its heavenly fragrance or value for money.

Omus: Bath Salts

A small black pot containing amber and orange bath salts stands on a white background. On the left, slightly behind the pot is a green plant in a white square pot.

I was very happy to see another Isun product grace my beauty box and couldn’t wait to try Ormus bath as I am a huge fan of bath salts. These salts smell incredibly luxurious, with frankincense, rose and jasmine oils infusing pink Himalayan salt crystals, dead sea salts and Peruvian pink salt to create a lovely bath time treat. The salts themselves dissolved almost instantly as they hit the water, and it made my skin feel nourished and smelling like i’d just stepped out of a spa. Yet again, Isun have wowed me with their products and I can’t wait to explore their range further.

All the products are lined up on a white background. On the left, slightly behind the products is a green plant in a white square pot.
