When I tried a miniature version of Alexa Sky Botanicals’ Rooibos & Roses Bath Oil last year, it went beyond my initial expectations as it was a far cry from bath oils i’d used in the past. Now, after using it on several occasions, I wanted to update you as to what a true skincare delight it really is.

Rooibos & Roses Bath Oil* is formulated with oils of sweet almond, argan, avocado and calendula to give the bath oil its uniquely nourishing, yet non-greasy, texture which won’t leave you, or your bathtub, covered in an oily residue. The addition of frankincense, Neroli, sandalwood, orange and bergamot essential oils gives the blend a beautifully floral and citrus-rich scent which is uplifting, soothing and incredibly relaxing. With the addition of Rooibos, which has powerful antioxidant properties, the bath oil promises to give skin the rejuvenation and nourishment it needs – all from a long soak in the bath.

The beautiful rosebuds in the bath oil itself not only gives the oil an additional fresh, sweet scent but also makes it visually attractive in both the bottle, and in the tub.  But where many brands stop at the ingredients which make products so effective, Alexa Sky Botanicals enhance their products further, supercharging them with the power of crystals and gemstones so their skincare range is a treat for the mind, body and soul, as well as the skin. Rooibos & Roses Bath Oil is supercharged with Amethyst, a crystal well-known to promote awareness, contentment and peacefulness, and thought to aid tension headaches, skin irritations and soothe the skin.

For me, the Rooibos & Roses Bath Oil doesn’t feel like an oil in the bath, rather a deeply moisturising bath soak that helps eradicate tension and ease tired minds and muscles; all while softening and smoothing the skin. The bath water doesn’t feel greasy or have droplets of oil sitting on the surface, as instead the water feels softer and less harsh on the skin. My skin felt beautifully moisturised when i’d finished bathing, so much so that I didn’t feel like I instantly needed to apply body products afterwards. Even my patches of eczema were softer and soothed after use and I didn’t experience any areas of sensitivity or skin irritations.

I’ve been using this bath oil a couple of times a week and have noticed a real difference in the feel of my skin as it’s felt surprisingly nourished and calm through the cold Winter weather and central heating. I feel like it has prepped my skin for my skincare, pre-oiling so my skin is softer to allow other products to sink deeper and be more beneficial in their results. The overall experience is lovely, taking bath time pampering to a new level and my skin is certainly reaping the benefits of the skin-loving ingredients.

The Rooibos & Roses Bath Oil is a must-have skincare essential, especially for the Winter months when skin can feel out of sorts from the harsh conditions we’re exposed to at this time of year. From the beautiful scent, which is perfectly balanced, to the feel of my skin after use, it really is a true delight to use and one that I can’t recommend enough.
