The Natural Beauty Box is among my favourite beauty subscriptions as the brands and products featured in each edit never fails to impress me with their quality and overall performance. May’s box had a Fresh & Fruity theme, a box which was perfectly designed to kick-start the summer and upgrade my beauty routine.
The Fresh & Fruity box contained skincare essentials from some incredibly affordable clean-beauty brands, something which I am always striving to find in my quest for great beauty products at a price I can afford to repurchase on a regular basis – a factor which many other beauty boxes lack when it comes to product value. The box arrived promptly and beautifully packaged as always, and I have to say that May’s box did not disappoint…
Kathleen: Citrus Cheer Bubble Bath & Shower Gel
I was so excited to see the Citrus Cheer Bubble Bath & Shower Gel from Kathleen as I had such a great experience with their Lavender Fields Scented last year. The citrus aroma of Kathleen’s Citrus Cheer certainly exceeded my expectations as it’s beautifully balanced with lemon, rosewood and geranium that goes beyond a citrus-scented body product and actually became an uplifting treat for the senses. I personally love a multi-use product, so to have both a bath and shower product in one makes me very happy. As a bubble bath, it creates glorious bubbles that remain for a good amount of time – all without any harsh foaming agent that would usually dry the skin. As a shower gel, a little gel went a long way, creating a gentle lather on the skin and leaving it feeling clean and soft – all without a feeling of tightness or dry patches. Utilising this as both a bath and shower product left my skin feeling gloriously soft, smooth and awakened – and I am always blown away by how little product I need. When it comes to value for money and great results, you cannot beat Kathleen Bubble Bath & Shower Gels as they are certainly among my favourite body care products as they never fail to impress – so much so that I already have a few items on my wishlist so keep your eyes peeled for more Kathleen products in the future.
Kathy Sue Ann’s: Super Nourishing Organic Body Scrub
As a dry skinned girl, body scrubs heavily feature in my beauty routine so I couldn’t wait to try something new. Kathy Sue-Ann’s is a new to me brand but after this experience, it certainly won’t be my last time trying their products. I have to be honest and say that coconut is not my favourite skincare scent however this certainly made me re-think my thoughts on the topic as this smells incredible. The coconut scent is strong in the jar but is delicate and light when on the skin. The texture of the dead sea salt scrub is unlike many others i’ve tried as it feels slightly drier despite being infused with organic coconut oil and avocado oil, and made for a good consistency when using in the shower as I was able to really buff it into the skin without it melting or sliding off. Despite it’s consistency, the scrub is incredibly nourishing, leaving my skin silky smooth and moisturised – all without a greasy residue left behind. Even though it was gritty, it wasn’t too harsh on my skin but gave great results to get skin summer ready. The results certainly speak for themselves and I cannot wait to try more products from their extensive range of goodies.
Aromantic Natural Skincare: Organic Orange Blossom Hydrolate Spray
As a big fan of floral waters/hydosols in my skincare routine I was excited to try this orange blossom hydrolate from Aromantic Natural Skincare. As a by-product from essential oil distillation, the beautiful neroli hydrolate spray is perfect for sensitive skin and thanks to its naturally astringent properties, is also great for oilier skin types too. The spray itself is intense yet not too overpowering, calming and relieving stress on both the mind and the skin. It’s a lovely refreshing addition to my AM routine, and is a relaxing treat when used in the evening. I can’t wait to explore the Aromantic product range further in the not so distant future.
Ben & Anna: Persian Lime Natural Soda Deodorant
Ben & Anna’s Natural Soda Deodorants have been on my radar for a while however this was my first time trying them. The deodorant stick comes in cardboard packaging with a push-up tube for easy application. The stick has a shea butter and soda base which gives the stick itself a firm, non-greasy texture that makes it a joy to use. The Persian Lime fragrance is perfect for me as I love fresh, zesty scents that get me in the mood for the summer season. I’ve been using this since my box arrived and have been thrilled with its overall performance. I love how the consistency isn’t sticky or wet yet at the same time, it doesn’t dry out or irritate my underarms. I recently steam-cleaned the bathroom on one of the hottest days of the year and this kept me free from sweat and odour all day. Once more, the brand also supports the ‘One Earth – One Ocean’ environmental organisation, making their products a worthwhile purchase in the quest to find the perfect natural deodorant. I will certainly be trying more scents out very soon, and am excited to test this out further when the Summer finally arrives.
Benecos: Sea Buckthorn & Orange Hand & Nail Cream
I have a real love/hate relationships with hand creams as I hate the stick residue they leave on your hands. Thankfully, the experience with Benecos’ Sea Buckthorn & Orange Hand Cream is very different and among the best i’ve tried. This beautiful hand cream is filled with beautiful ingredients such as rosehip, calendula and nettle, as well as Sea Buckthorn and Orange peel oil, to moisturise and protect hands and nails. The beautiful citrus-scented cream has a consistency similar to a lotion, therefore a little product goes a very long way. It absorbs into hands with ease, intensely nourishing the skin without leaving behind any stickiness. My hands are silky smooth, soft and look better than they have done in a long time. Benecos are a brand which have continually impressed me and showcases that purchasing natural and cruelty free beauty products doesn’t have to be expensive.
The Natural Beauty Box has delivered another great box in May’s edit as the Fresh & Fruity themed box contained some beautiful products from amazing brands.
