I recently discovered Om Shanti Alchemy at the end of last year and the brand made so much of an impact, they received a special mention in my favourite brand discoveries of 2019.
Om Shanti Alchemy was born from a personal struggle with mental illness as Bobbie, the founder of the brand, followed her passion for nature and healing, along with her new found love of Reiki, Crystal Healing and aromatherapy, to aid her recovery. Bobbie has a strong determination to not only overcome her own anxieties but also help others feel a sense of calm whenever they are overwhelmed, something which she achieves by sharing her self-love routine with the very products that form the entire Om Shanti Alchemy range. The brand is built on trust, self-love, mindfulness and inner peace which is certainly realised in the products themselves that are a useful reminder to take time out of your day to relax and nourish your soul as well as your skin.
Each product in the Om Shanti Alchemy range is cruelty-free and contains sustainably sourced, organic ingredients. As well as this, all the products are handmade in small batches in Wales and infused with Reiki energy which will be passed on to you as you use each item, giving you an additional element of complete relaxation and calm. The range goes beyond simple skincare, focusing on mind, body and soul and not just the skin. The products evoke a completely relaxing experience and one which I have been enjoying immensely since utilising their products in my skincare routine.
I have been trying three products from Om Shanti Alchemy’s range yet today i’ll be sharing my thoughts on just one – but don’t worry, they’ll be more reviews coming soon!
Om Shanti Alchemy: Sattva Salts
If you’ve been following me for a while you’ll know that I love salt-based bathing products as they are are so effective on my dry skin type. Om Shanti Alchemy’s Sattva Salts are vegan friendly and formulated with beautiful skin loving ingredients including Himalayan Salts, organic oils of rosehip, apricot kernel, sweet almond and moringa, crushed calendula and rose petals and an essential oil blend of organic mandarin orange, sandalwood and neroli.
Sattva Salts are designed as a salt scrub, exfoliating the skin and aiding lymphatic drainage when rubbed in circular motions from the feet towards the heart. The texture is much drier than other salt scrubs i’ve used in the past yet the crushed botanicals and oils hold the scrub together as you apply to the skin, allowing you to massage it in and buff away all those dead skin cells to leave behind skin which is soft, smooth and deeply nourished. What I also love is that Sattva Salts can also be utilised as a salt soak too, with the finely milled Himalayan salts dissolving into the bath water with ease and leaving behind a luxurious, purifying soak which helps to ease tension, relax the mind and leave the skin feeling intensely moisturised yet never greasy.
What I love most about Sattva Salts is the beautiful aroma that is awakening and refreshing thanks to the Mandarin-rich scent that instantly brightens the senses. The Mandarin Orange aroma is what really dominates as you open the jar, yet as you begin to utilise the salts in your bathing routine, whether it be as a scrub or soak, you begin to get the sweet, floral tones of neroli which has a warmth coming from the delicate sandalwood scent. The blend is truly stunning and is a beautiful accompaniment to the glorious texture of the Sattva Salts themselves that are the perfect addition to your body care ritual.
Om Shanti Alchemy’s Sattva Salts have certainly impressed me with their performance as both a scrub and bath soak as they have left my skin feeling incredible after use. I love everything the brand encompasses from their ethical ethos, love of the natural world and product performance that has wowed me from first use. I have loved integrating the Sattva Salts into my body care regime and cannot wait to share my thoughts on the brand’s other products too.
