There is nothing better than finding a great quality balm that is nourishing and soothing on the skin yet doesn’t break the bank when you’re on a budget. Luckily, after using Okiki Skincare’s Comfrey & Calendula Balm in my routine over several weeks, I think I may have found a balm that ticks all of those boxes…

Okiki Skincare’s Comfrey & Calendula Balm is formulated with skin loving ingredients such as olive oil, shea butter, Roman Chamomile essential oil, Comfrey extract, lavender essential oil and sweet almond oil infused with Calendula petals to intensely nourish dry patches and calm any redness or irritation. The balm helps to support the skin’s natural barrier to aid dry or cracked skin by providing long-lasting moisturisation deep within the skin layers for a nourishing effect which lasts all day.

The balm itself has the most beautiful silky, smooth texture thanks to the addition of beeswax that helps it spread across the skin with ease. It smells beautifully fresh and floral thanks to the calendula, yet on the skin has a slight herby, earthy aroma from the Comfrey and other skin loving ingredients.

When applied to the face and body, it leaves a subtle sheen which dissipates quite quickly and leaves behind skin that is soft and smooth after use. As my skin is very dry at the moment and suffering from some irritation, I needed to apply several times throughout the day to keep my skin comfortable yet after a few days use, I found myself needing to re-apply less and less and now just apply twice a day.

I loved the formulation of Okiki Skincare’s Comfrey and Calendula Balm as it performed incredibly well on my dry skin type. Calendula is one of my favourite ingredients within my skincare routine and it certainly lived up to my expectations. For me, this has been a lovely nourishing treat for dry patches on my face, especially around my nose, forehead and across the tops of my cheeks. My hands also reaped the benefits of the balm, as handwashing has been taking it’s toll, and it was a nice change from hand creams that can sometimes leave your hands feeling sticky rather than moisturised.

I would certainly repurchase Okiki Skincare’s Comfrey and Calendula Balm again in the future and cannot wait to try more from their balm collection – that is when my own balm supplies have dwindled (self-confessed balmaholic right here!).
