KIND2: Conditioner Reinvented ‘The Restoring One’ (Review)

I’m sure i’m not the only one who is actively trying to reduce plastic waste, and although there are some difficulties in finding Earth-conscious alternatives, my beauty routine is a part of my life that I find it easiest to make eco-friendly swaps…

Yet one part of my shower routine that I have struggled to find a plastic-free alternative is hair conditioner, and as someone with thick hair, this is a product I cannot be without. Luckily, I have discovered a product that is not only plastic-free, ethical and easy to use, but is also incredibly effective at conditioning my dry ends.

KIND2 was born from a frustration at the amount of plastic waste polluting the environment on a global scale. As the haircare industry is one of the areas that creates the most plastic waste within our everyday routines, it was something that KIND2 were incredibly passionate about tackling, challenging the misconception that plastic-free isn’t always as effective as their liquid counterparts.

KIND2’s Conditioner Reinvented ‘The Restoring One’ is formulated with normal, dry and chemically treated hair in mind and comes in a ergonomically shaped dome that fits perfectly in your hand. The bar has a lovely fresh aroma that isn’t overpowering and is natural, vegan, cruelty-free, ph-balanced and safe for use on coloured hair.

When i’ve washed my hair (with my favourite plastic free shampoo tablets), I simply take the bar and slide it down the lengths of my hair, avoiding the roots as I would with a conventional liquid conditioner, and then use my detangling brush as usual to distribute it through my ends (you can also use your fingers). I personally find that KIND2’s conditioner bar rinses from the hair in exactly the same way as liquid conditioner, taking only a minute or so to fully rinse away leaving behind no greasy residue at all.

One thing I noticed straight away after use was that the scent didn’t remain on my hair like other conditioners which I was actually quite pleased about. I have to say that I was very surprised by the results after first use, as my very thick, long hair was soft and more manageable, flyaways were minimal and my hair didn’t feel weighed down at all. Each time i’ve used this in my hair care routine, I feel like it’s performance gets better, with the lasting results improving with each use. The best news is that despite using this for so many occasions over the past few months, I am still on my first bar. It maintains its dome shape well, dries out quickly and is still providing amazing conditioning effects. What is even more impressive is how the bar can also be used on dry hair too, as it is a great styling product for smoothing any frizz. Simply warm the bar in your palms, just so you start to feel a little slip, and either use the bar directly to the hair or run your hands through the mid-lengths to just tame any flyaways.

It is safe to say that KIND2 has really impressed me with their Earth-conscious, ethical and effective conditioner bar which really does rival some liquid conditioners i’ve used in the past. If you are looking for more eco-swaps within your everyday routine then KIND2’s plastic-free conditioner should certainly be on your list as it has been a great addition in my own haircare routine.
