|Gifted| I have been a huge fan of Silvan Skincare for quite a while now as their skincare range and ethical ethos is one to be admired, with Earth-conscious packaging, alongside natural and organic ingredients that make them one of my go-to’s when it comes to green beauty…

Surprisingly, until recently, I had only explored a few of their plastic-free, multi-use balms so I was excited to try something from their range of facial skincare that is targeted for specific skin concerns. The Soothe Face Oil is formulated with dry and sensitive skin types in mind, containing organic plant oils and botanicals to not only nourish and calm the skin but also smooth laughter lines and replenish the complexion.

Soothe Face Oil contains some truly beautiful vegan ingredients that are rich in essential fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants including:

  • apricot kernel oil,
  • sunflower seed oil,
  • sesame seed oil,
  • olive fruit oil,
  • jojoba oil,
  • safflower seed oil,
  • coconut,
  • rosehip fruit oil,
  • vitamin e,
  • arnica flower extract,
  • mandarin peel oil,
  • chamomile flower oil,
  • neroli flower oil,
  • lavender oil,
  • rosemary leaf extract.

The blend of ingredients makes this an incredibly special formulation indeed, as not only does it help to soothe the skin but also really locks in the moisture that our skin so desperately needs, especially at this time of year with harsher weather conditions and the central heating. Despite its intensely moisturising properties, the oil is surprisingly lightweight and sits on the skin beautifully when layering with other products. It absorbs well and doesn’t feel heavy or greasy on the skin, making it great for daytime use as well as in your evening routine.

What I love most is the beautiful aroma which is perfectly balanced and doesn’t overpower in any way. The oil has a lovely fresh, floral aroma from lavender, chamomile and neroli – with mandarin and rosemary lingering in the background – providing a lovely treat for the senses as well as the skin. It is nice to find a soothing product that has an essential oil blend, as so many aimed at sensitive skin types opt not to include them. This is where I feel Silvan Skincare do an excellent job, as not only does the essential oils really elevate the whole skincare experience but also allows the skin to reap their potent benefits too.

My skin has been loving this facial oil over the past few months as it has calmed irritation and redness, especially across my cheeks and around my nose, while also ensuring that my very dry skin type stays feeling supple and deeply nourished throughout the day. I’ve found that a little oil goes an incredibly long way, with just a few drops absorbing into the skin and maintaining it’s moisturising and soothing properties all day. I have also enjoyed adding a few drops of this into my face masks too for an additional calming, moisture boost that has left my skin feeling and looking at its best.

To say that I have been impressed by the performance of Silvan Skincare’s Soothe Face Oil is an under statement, as it has been a great all-rounder that has catered to so many of my own skin concerns. This affordable facial oil has tackled everything from dryness and irritation to fine lines and redness, all of which have been dramatically reduced since incorporating this award-winning formulation into my skincare routine.
