|Gifted| Green People are one of the biggest names in the natural and organic beauty industry, with a range that has been going from strength to strength since its launch in 1997. The latest launch sees the brand branch out into the wellness sector, with a collection that not only promotes self-care but also raises awareness for a very worthy cause…
The new Alexandra Kay Wellness collection comprises of three essential oil blends designed to help mind, body and soul – while helping those with invisible illnesses such as EDS. Alexandra Kay, the daughter of Green People’s founder Charlotte Vøhtz, suffers with Ehlers – Danlos Syndrome, a connective tissue disorder which is difficult to diagnose and is incurable.

Alexandra wanted to collaborate with her mother on a wellness collection that could help others on their wellness journey and have a positive impact upon their mental health even during physical struggles. Alexandra herself waited 13 years for a diagnosis and hopes that by raising awareness of EDS through this wellness range, will “hopefully contribute to cutting the diagnostic time down to under one year”. If this wasn’t enough, Green People are also giving 10% of each sale of the Alexandra Kay Wellness range to EDS Support UK, a charity helping those who have the condition and aiding those who have symptoms to get a quicker diagnosis by spreading the message “If you can’t connect the issues, think connective tissues”.

The Alexandra Kay Wellness Range comprises of three essential oil blends including Time to Relax, Time to Sleep and Time to Smile. Green People kindly sent me their Time to Smile blend to try out and after using it for a few weeks, it’s safe to say that I am a huge fan. Each essential oil blend comes in a glass bottle with pipette for ease of use, and a gorgeous outer box with signature Alexandra Kay Wellness design. The design and visual impact alone not only makes this a lovely treat for yourself, but it would also make a great gift for someone special too.

Time to Smile is a blend of lemon, cedarwood and sweet orange, as well as bergamot, lavender, peppermint, frankincense, lemongrass and basil. The aroma is fresh, zesty and uplifting, with citrus notes accompanied by peppermint which lingers beautifully in the background. The additional woody and herbal essential oils prevent the blend from being too sweet for a perfectly balanced aroma that is guaranteed to lift your spirits and awaken the senses. It is also useful to remember that the essential oil blend not only serves a purpose for aiding the senses, but also the essential oils included in this particular blend such as lavender, lemon and frankincense is also incredibly beneficial on the skin too.

There are so many ways to incorporate this essential oil blend into your everyday routine, not only around the home but also in your beauty routine too:
- Topical use (diluted),
- Vaporiser or diffuser,
- Room spray,
- Pillow aromatherapy,
- Compress (diluted),
- Bath product (diluted),
- Massage (diluted),
- Inhalation via tissue or cloth.
I have personally been loving Time to Shine as a room mist, added into water in a spray bottle, as well as in my diffuser and inhaling anytime my mind needs refocusing and refreshing. I am also going to add a few drops to Epsom salts and use in the bath as well as make my own body oil with the blend and a carrier oil of choice.

The Time to Smile Essential Oil blend certainly brings joy and happiness with it’s fresh and uplifting aroma that is perfect as we head into the Summer months and start to return back to some normality after a very difficult year.
