|Gifted| Last month’s edit of The Natural Beauty Box was another great example of what a beauty box should be, with a selection of cruelty-free and vegan skincare, haircare and make-up items that were worth over £65 in value…
The Natural Beauty Box is a firm favourite of mine, and is one of the few cruelty-free beauty boxes on the market that still deliver great value each month. June’s edit had a Summer Essentials theme and the contents, which had a good mix of affordable products from some new (and existing favourite) brands, really did deliver products that suited the theme – and time of year – perfectly.
When it comes to affordable and high quality skincare and lifestyle products, Organii is one of the best, with a great selection of high quality products suitable for the whole family. I’m already a huge fan of their sunscreen range, having tried other products that really deliver on their promises.
This SPF 15 Facial Sunscreen is certainly no exception, with a lightweight formulation that didn’t dry out my skin or leave a white cast. For me, this is a litle too low in SPF for this time of year however it will be perfect for the Winter month’s or for rainy days when I spend more time indoors. If you are looking for a low cost broad spectrum SPF, then Organii is certainly the brand to check out.
In a similar way to Organii, Lavera are another great value brand to check out when making natural switches, and I have to say that I was very impressed by the performance of their roll-on deodorant. The roll-on deodorant is possibly the best way to make the natural deodorant transition as it has the conventional concept and the most similarity to products you might be used to using.
The deodorant performed incredibly well, even in this warmer weather, and kept me smelling fresh throughout the day. I didn’t experience any irritation and the scent is incredible (so perfect for any citrus fans out there!). I would highly recommend for people making the natural switch however, as I am trying to make my daily essentials more environmentally friendly, this probably wouldn’t replace my existing deodorants which are plastic free or refillable.
I am a huge fan of hair and scalp oils as they are a great way to give your hair a little TLC before washing and improve hair and scalp health for the long haul. This is a good size from Ovviovita and the pump bottle makes for easy use as you can easily gauge how much product you need – without getting in a mess.
The oil itself is rich in texture and instantly made my scalp feel less dry and tight after washing. It left my hair soft and more manageable, looking shiny in its appearance yet not heavy or greasy in any way. What I loved in particular is the scent, which is lemon-fresh and perfect for this time of year, and its multipurpose nature is an additional bonus as it can be used to help achieve the brows you’ve always dreamed of as well as promoting great hair and scalp health.
I’m a big fan of Bella Pierre products as they are cruelty-free, great value and free from talc and other nasties often found in cosmetics. I received the shade Excite, a white shimmer powder with a purple reflex that catches the light beautifully.
The mica powder is very finely milled, so a little product goes a very long way, with a colour pay-off that is strong and wears well. What I love is the versatility in application, either using as an iridescent shimmer powder on the eye or, mixed with a little balm or gloss, for a light wash of colour that gives a subtle brightness to the eye. It can also be used in a multitude of other ways too, from eyeliner and highlight to nail colour and body shimmer (mixed with a little lotion). I will certainly be exploring more shades in the future and highly recommend if you love a versatile make-up product that delivers great results.
Crown Soaps is a new to me brand so I was excited to discover their body butter in June’s edit. The body butter has an unusual fragrance profile, with the citrus and minty aroma that you don’t encounter very often, but actually works in harmony with each other within the Capital Body Butter.
The texture is absolutely beautiful, with a silky smooth consistency that melts onto the skin and absorbs well without leaving any residue. It left my skin looking and feeling nourished and smelling incredible after use. I have to say that i’ve been impressed with this little pot of buttery goodness and would certainly explore the brand in the future for more body care products.
I have to say that I was very impressed with June’s edit of The Natural Beauty Box as it had something for everyone, from make-up and hair care to skincare and Summer essentials that integrate so well in daily life. There are still some June boxes still available, which you can find as a one-off purchase over on The Natural Beauty Box website , or if you’d like to find out more about previous boxes, then check out my reviews here.
