|Gifted| Freedm Street turned 4 this month and to celebrate, their June bi-monthly subscription boxes were full of amazing products with a little extra Birthday freebie for all subscribers…

Freedm Street, formerly known as The Cruelty Free Beauty Box, are not only a bi-monthly subscription box service but also an online store for all your cruelty-free and vegan beauty, lifestyle and snacking needs. Their passion for animals and the environment is not only realised in the extensive range of products available to purchase (or included in the subscription boxes) but also in everything they do; from plastic-free packaging and charitable donations to planting trees and utilising seed paper in each box to help #savethebees.

But where Freedm Street stand out from many other beauty boxes on the market is that they offer three boxes to choose from , all of which can be personalised for your skin type, shades and even if you’d like to opt out of receiving make-up items. This is something that is very rare to find for a subscription box and with so much choice, there really is something for everyone. If you thought this was enough, then you thought wrong, as Freedm Street also offer free UK shipping on their boxes, reasonable international shipping from under £5 and 10% store discount for all subscribers to use as and when they please.

Freedm Street Subscription Boxes

I received The Original Box and must say that I was not disappointed! I opted for a make-up item, with a neutral shade, and products designed for a dry skin type. There was 7 beauty items in total, with an additional Birthday treat that was a lovely addition, and really did make for a bumper Birthday box …

Freedm Street: Solid Sugar Scrub (Freshly Squeezed) – £4.95

An orange-coloured solid sugar scrub bar and brown cardboard outer box sits on a white, wooden round tray with a eucalyptus stem to the side - Freedm Street Subscription Beauty Box review by Beauty Folio

Exfoliating is an incredibly important part of our skincare routine and Freedm Street’s Solid Sugar Scrub makes it easy, hassle free and Earth conscious with no plastic waste. The Freshly Squeezed scent is zesty and fresh, great for this time of year and particularly refreshing on the senses if used in your AM shower routine. I often find body scrubs in the shower a little messy but this was quick, easy and gave great results – even on first use. I will certainly be exploring their other fragrance in the not so distant future, and highly recommend if you are looking for an affordable and time effective addition to your bodycare routine.

Ascent: Botanical Facial Steam (Be Happy) – £8.00

A brown pouch of facial steam sits on a white, wooden round tray with a eucalyptus stem to the side - Freedm Street Subscription Beauty Box review by Beauty Folio

I am a huge fan of facial steaming, as not only does it help to hydrate the skin and prepare it for products, but it is also incredibly beneficial on the senses too. I personally believe that no pampering session is complete without a little facial steam and I have to say that the Be Happy blend from Ascent is great, not only helping to relax the mind but also detoxifying the skin and boosting radiance at the same time. I also have to applaud the brand on the size of the product as this will last a lot longer than any of my previous purchases and is incredibly affordable too. If you are looking to try facial steaming for the first time, or are in the market for a new brand, then this may just be the one for you.

Flawless: Luxury Body Wash (Oriental Bliss) – £3.95

Flawless Oriental Bliss Luxury Body Wash comes in a clear bottle with silver lid and white labelling. It is laying on a white, wooden round tray with a eucalyptus stem to the side - Freedm Street Subscription Beauty Box review by Beauty Folio

If you love the scent of Jasmine, then Oriental Bliss Luxury Body Wash by Flawless is the product for you. It has the most beautiful jasmine scent which is perfectly balanced and not too overpowering, and it lingers nicely on the skin after use. It lathers well and leaves the skin feeling lovely and soft after use, as well as feeling clean and fresh. If you enjoy using a body wash, then I highly recommend trying Flawless products, as not only do they perform well but they are also incredibly affordable too. For me personally, I prefer to use a soap bar in the bath and shower so this wouldn’t be a repurchase for me however, after already having some experience of the brand, I highly recommend exploring their range for some great treats for the skin and senses alike.

Balade En Provence: Solid Day Cream – £23.95

A round, yellow-coloured solid day cream bar by Balade En Provence sits on a white, wooden round tray with a eucalyptus stem to the side and yellow, branded outer box just above - Freedm Street Subscription Beauty Box review by Beauty Folio

After trying Balade En Provence’s Cleansing Bar last year, I was thrilled to try another plastic free product from their range in Freedm Street’s Original Box. The Solid Day Cream has the most beautiful sweet, delicately floral scent which is unlike anything I have within my skincare collection. The bar begins to give slightly with the heat from your hands and glides directly onto the face with ease, leaving behind a veil of oil/moisturiser in its wake. It left my skin skin feeling nourished and soft after use and I can’t wait to see how it performs long term. With how little i’ve used so far, i’m not surprised that it has an average life span of 3-months, and I love that it makes for a great Summer essential/travel companion as it holds up particularly well in the heat.

Dr Botanicals: Watermelon Cleanser & Make-Up Remover – £14.90

A pink tube of Dr Botanicals Watermelon Cleanser and Make-Up Remover sits on a white, wooden round tray with a eucalyptus stem to the side - Freedm Street Subscription Beauty Box review by Beauty Folio

As I have a few cleansing products open at the moment I haven’t had chance to try this as yet however, it certainly sounds like a great multipurpose product for normal to dry skin types and the tube does make for handy application, especially if you are travelling. I would say that I am looking forward to trying this before the Summer is out as I think watermelon products are great for the warmer weather and i’m hoping this will be a treat for the skin and the senses alike.

Vitamasques: Pineapple Biodegradable Mask – £3.99

The Vitamasques Sheet Mask (in a yellow packet with pineapples on it) sits on a white, wooden round tray with a eucalyptus stem to the side - Freedm Street Subscription Beauty Box review by Beauty Folio

As someone with a dry and dehydrated skin type, sheet masks always used to be my go-to when it came to giving my skin a pamper in the heat, but with the environmental impact of sheet masks equating to those of facial wipes, I had to kick my sheet masking habit once and for all. But luckily, brands such as Vitamasques are helping us sheet mask lovers to rediscover an eco-friendly version, with biodegradable masks made from plant cellulose. This mask is formulated with dull and dehydrated skin types in mind so perfect for my skin type, but it also comes in other versions to ensure that there is something for everyone. I have been saving this for the warmer weather so no doubt i’ll be sheet masking this weekend as it set to be a scorcher – so watch this space for an update on how I get on.

Le Papier: Glossy Nude Lipstick (Dusky Rose) – £13.96

I am a huge fan of Le Papier lip balms so was very excited to try their lipsticks, which have the same great eco-friendly packaging as the lip balms and functionality which makes them precise and great for on-the-go application. The Dusky Rose shade is a beautiful nude, slightly warmer in tone than I was expecting, but still a lovely neutral shade that will accompany any look perfectly. I was expecting it to be more of a tinted balm due to the nourishing ingredients such as jojoba oil, shea butter and coconut oil, but I couldn’t be more wrong. The lipstick is highly pigmented and has a lovely sheen that is incredibly wearable and surprisingly long-lasting. I will certainly be trying more shades from the collection very soon as I love everything about the brand, packaging and the overall performance.

Freedm Street: Pick & Mix (100g) – £2.49

The small, brown, cardboard box with white label sits on a white, wooden round tray with a eucalyptus stem to the side with the vegan, palm-oil free pick & Mix sweets spilling out of one end - Freedm Street Subscription Beauty Box review by Beauty Folio

The Birthday treat came in the form of some vegan and palm-oil free Pick & Mix sweets which was a really nice touch, especially as The Original Box doesn’t usually contain edible products. These taste as good as they look, with a good variety of sweets which taste no different to non-vegan products. They went down a storm and will certainly be a repurchase very soon.

All the items from the Freedm Street Original Box laid out together with a stem of Eucalptus - Review by Beauty Folio

It is safe to say that The Original Box has been incredible, with a great mix of products that makes Freedm Street’s subscription boxes stand out in the beauty box market. I love how you can repurchase any of the items from the online store with a discount as it really does take the hassle out of sourcing cruelty-free beauty and i’ve always found the service incredibly reliable.
