|AD – Gifted| September’s edit of The Natural Beauty Box was yet another incredible curation of beautiful products from some of my favourite brands, and also featured one new-to-me skincare company which I was thrilled to discover. The box had a Replenish theme, which was perfect for the time of year, as it featured some nourishing treats that helped with the seasonal transition as we eased into Autumn…
September’s box was amazingly good value for money, with a selection of products that were worth just over £67.00 for the £25.00/month box price – an amount that is lower if you subscribe. The boxes always come nicely packaged and are curated beautifully by Emma who selects the brands so carefully to suit each theme. I have to say that I have found some beautiful items in this box and once again have been impressed by the variety and product types that have featured.
I am a huge fan of Bao Skincare yet surprisingly, I hadn’t tried their Restorative Beauty Oil until it made its appearance in last month’s box. The oil has a beautiful aroma of frankincense, neroli and lavender, bringing a calming scent that is delicate and soothing on the skin and senses alike.
The oil has a stunning texture that is deeply nourishing, highly absorbent and surprisingly lightweight despite its deeply moisturising properties. The ingredients have been specifically selected to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, brighten dull complexions and help fight free radicals with it’s antioxidant-rich formulation. It is safe to say that first impressions are great so far, living up to it’s promises by leaving my skin feeling soft, supple, free from dry patches and brighter in its appearance. I will certainly be adding the full-sized version to my wishlist after trialling this mini version as it has only added to my existing love of the brand I already have. I think we can all agree that no pampering experience is complete without a face mask, and although I love a powdered clay mask, sometimes it is nice to reach for a pre-mixed mask instead (especially when they are as good as Kathleen Naturals’ mask collection). I am already a fan of Kathleen Naturals’ Bright Mask, so was very excited to see if the Dead Sea Mud Clay Mask gave the same great performance.
The mask has the most beautiful, smooth texture that applies with ease, sitting well on the skin and giving the senses a treat with a fresh aroma of lemon, frankincense and geranium. Despite being a detoxifying mask, it is incredibly gentle yet effective at deeply cleansing the skin while also keeping it hydrated and soft after use.
It didn’t leave my face feeling dry or tight in any way and it great value for money as a little goes a very long way. This has certainly made me want to explore the Kathleen Naturals mask range even further, as the skincare benefits and the mood boosting aromas makes them a truly beautiful product to use. As we head into the Autumn/Winter months, body butters are my go-to product when it comes to nourishing skincare; and new-to-me brand, Dahlia Botanique’s Sea Buckthorn Face & Body Butter was just the ticket.
The beautifully whipped body butter is rich yet melts on contact with the skin, absorbing well and leaving skin looking intensely nourished and incredibly soft to the touch. The intense colour from the eponymous sea buckthorn is visually appealing and brings with it a wealth of skin benefits that are perfect for this time of year.
Sea buckthorn is joined by soothing chamomile and calendula, as well as nourishing ingredients such as hemp and shea butter, to give skin the intense hit of moisture we need as the cooler weather and central heating kicks in. I have only used this on my body so far, but I imagine it would make for a lovely face cream too, especially before bed, and the fragrance free formulation is perfect for sensitive skin types (and allows you to truly appreciate the natural, Earthy aroma of the natural ingredients themselves). If you’re looking for an affordable body butter, then this may just be the one for you.
I am always happy to see a floral water or hydrolat feature in a beauty box and having already tried this one in the past, I know just how good it is. Orange Blossom water gives the most beautiful calming aroma that not only treats the senses but also benefits all skin types by helping to tone and refresh the skin.
I personally love to use it to mix powdered face masks as the neroli aroma makes it a pleasure to use and supercharges the masking properties at the same time. If you’re looking to try a new floral water, I highly recommend you give this one a go.
Friendly Soap are among my favourite brands when it comes to affordable yet high quality soap bars, offering completely plastic-free products that don’t cost the Earth. The Travel Soap is new to me but as someone who loves a multi-use product, I was certainly not disappointed by its performance and versatility.
The bar has a lovely fresh, uplifting aroma and can be used as a hand and body soap, shampoo bar – and even for hand washing clothes on your travels. It forms a rich lather, is non-drying and leaves skin feeling clean, soft and ready for the day ahead.
I love that it is naturally antiseptic too, especially in these times, and the size and long lasting bar makes it exceptional value for money. You can see all my previous Friendly Soap reviews here to find out more.
It is safe to say the Replenish themed box last month was great value and contained some truly beautiful products. The Natural Beauty Box never fails to impress with an array of products that upgrades my beauty routine for the better.
