Alexa Sky Botanicals were a brand on my wish list for quite some time, so when Rare Beauty launched back in May, their products were among the first I added to my order…

Alexa Sky Botanicals was born from one woman’s personal quest to find a solution for problematic skin conditions and a cleaner lifestyle.  By utilising her passion for skincare, alongside the power of plants, this beauty brand is now a Mother-Daughter business paving the way for innovative and natural skincare. Not only are the products cruelty-free, sustainable and beautifully handcrafted in the UK, but they’re also supercharged with crystals and gemstones in order to promote the best level of wellbeing possible from the products created.

Brick Wall Bottle

The Cactus Fruit Eye Serum contains skin-loving ingredients such as prickly pear, white poppy seed, chamomile and black seed oil to reduce dark circles, improve the appearance of fine lines, increase firmness and reduce puffiness from the under eye area. The formula is also charged with Amethyst, which is thought to reduce tension headaches, help with eye strain and generally soothe any irritations.

I love the rollerball applicator, as not only does it cool the eye area, but it also allows for easy application and dispenses just the right amount of product to reduce wastage. I found the scent very unusual when I first started using the serum, as it has a very earthy, almost grass-like quality to it, which I have to admit did take some getting used to. Once I’d used it for around a week, I didn’t notice the scent and have actually grown to love it the more I use it.

The serum itself absorbs nicely on the skin, and has a lightweight, silky texture which immediately cools the undereye area. After using it both morning and night for around 2 weeks, I started to notice that my dark circles were less noticeable, and the hydration level around my eyes had certainly improved. I’ve been using the Cactus Fruit Eye Serum since mid-May and have noticed a significant difference in my under eye area. Not only have my dark circles been greatly reduced, all dryness been eradicated and my lower lids less puffy, but even the texture of my skin has improved. I’ve had a lot of make-up free days, as I haven’t had to use colour correctors and heavy concealers under my eyes, and I’ve even had comments that my eyes look a lot brighter.

Despite using this consistently since May, I still have serum left in the bottle, as you only use a small amount of product with each application. It’s amazing value for money and is honestly the best eye product I think ‘ve ever used. I have been really impressed by both the quality and performance of this Alexa Sky Botanicals product and have since purchased more items from the extensive product range. Their attention to detail, dedication to natural skincare and views on wellness are realised in their products, and I’m excited to see what else the brand has to offer in the future.
