I first discovered Meadow Skincare in January’s The Natural Beauty Box and as soon as I tried their Gently Nourishing Cleansing Balm and Overnight Replenishing Oil, I knew the brand’s skincare range was very special indeed.
Meadow Skincare carefully formulate their vegan and natural beauty products with high quality and sustainable fruit butters and plant oils, and make each item by hand in small batches to ensure quality and freshness. Their dedication to simple skincare is realised in their small range which comprises of the essential skincare products to give you a spa-like experience at home, every day of the week.
The lovely ladies at Meadow Skincare sent me samples of their Soothe and Calm Face Mask and Hydration Boost Moisturising Face Balm to use in conjunction with my remaining products left from The Natural Beauty Box so I could experience the whole range for myself – and after using all four products, I was certainly not disappointed.
Gently Nourishing Cleansing Balm
From the moment I used this cleansing balm, I fell in love with both the scent and texture of the product which certainly lived up to expectations. You can see my review here, but I have to say that this is among the nicest cleansing balms I’ve used as the gentle formulation simply melted away all impurities and traces of make-up leaving my skin feeling clean, fresh and incredibly soft. My skin didn’t feel dry or irritated after use and the balm didn’t leave any residue behind. If you’re looking for a cleansing balm that is light yet highly effective, you certainly won’t go far wrong with Meadow Skincare’s Gently Nourishing Cleansing Balm.
*Calm and Soothe Face Mask
No beauty ritual would be complete without a weekly clay face mask, and with my skin still rebelling against the Winter weather, Calm and Soothe sounded like the mask for me. The pre-blended mask has a texture like no other clay mask I’ve used in the past as it has a greasy balm-like consistency that in all honesty, I didn’t expect to like on the skin. However, I am glad to report however that my initial thoughts couldn’t be more wrong. The mask melts on contact with skin, feeling lightweight and instantly moisturising on application. It spread across my skin with ease, with a little mask going a long way, and it sat well on my skin for the recommended time of 10-15 minutes. I really enjoyed the scent of the mask, as it really captures the true aroma of the natural ingredients that makes this mask highly effective. Kaolin Clay, which is a clay that’s perfect for even the most sensitive of skin types, helps to give pores a deep cleanse while the addition of yarrow and a blend of oils such as broccoli seed, cucumber and elderberry are rich in antioxidants and vitamins to soothe, hydrate, reduce redness – all while fighting free-radicals and boosting skin elasticity. My skin felt the soothing element almost immediately as it certainly calmed the irritation and redness around my nose after first use. My skin didn’t feel tight or dry during or after application, and my face felt soft and smooth to the touch. After using this several times, my sensitive skin was definitely reaping the benefits of the Soothe and Calm Face Mask as any irritation was reduced and my complexion looked fresher and brighter. The effects of the mask lasted all week, and my overall experience certainly means that this lovely mask will be on my wish list for purchase in the not-so-distant future.
Overnight Replenishing Oil
Even though I enjoyed using Meadow Skincare’s Overnight Replenishing Oil back in January’s box, I initially found that it wasn’t quite nourishing enough for my very dry skin during the Winter months so would be more suitable as a summer product for my skin. However, thanks to incorporating Meadow Skincare’s Hydration Boost Moisturising Face Balm (reviewed below), I have recently been loving the results of this beautiful overnight oil. You can find my full review of the oil here, but I have to say that after using the remaining product alongside the balm, my skin was transformed. My face wasn’t dry or flaky at all in the morning but instead looked plump and nourished without the urgent need for moisturiser. I think if you have a dry skin type, it is definitely worth utilising a balm at the same time, however, if you have a more normal to oily complexion, this this would work perfectly on it’s own within your daily skincare routine.
*Hydration Boost Moisturising Face Balm
Nothing is more pleasing to me that seeing a balm with a beautifully intense colour such as this, as it truly looks like skincare goodness in a jar. Meadow Skincare’s vegan formula contains Rosehip Seed Oil, Olive Squalene, Sea Buckthorn Oil and fruit butters to nourish the skin, aid dehydration, repair the skin and target areas of pigmentation. This wonder balm is truly a skincare saviour, as the silky, smooth balm sits beautifully on the skin and gives that boost of moisture that you would expect from a balm with such an intense colour. Meadow Skincare’s Hydration Boost Moisturising Face Balm is the epitome of what a face balm should be, as it goes beyond simple hydration to target skin concerns associated with all skin types from sensitive to oily. The scent is possibly one of my favourite things about the balm itself, as the natural aroma from fruit butter and oils shines through with a subtle hint of lavender and geranium essential oils that gives a delicately floral finish which is a delight for the senses. I have to say that as a balm fan, this one is a firm favourite and one which will be added to my skincare collection in the coming months.
My experience of using Meadow Skincare’s samples has been incredible, and to say the brand have wowed me with their first impressions is an understatement. Their products not only perform brilliantly but also go the distance, as their unique and powerful formulas mean that you only need a minimal amount of product for maximum results. I applaud Meadow Skincare for keeping their skincare range as simple as possible, as their limited range of products ensures that skincare doesn’t have to be complicated and that less can be so much more. The products are so lovely to use, and cater for everyone, that they even made my Mother’s Day Gift Guide this year.
