The first time I tried Alexa Sky Botanicals’ Phyto Power Complex Face Oil was in the Healthy Skin Essentials Set which featured in my Christmas Gift Guide last year. The oil was one of my favourite items in the set, so much so that I couldn’t wait to purchase the full-sized version.

Alexa Sky Botanicals’ Phyto Power Complex contains a wealth of beautiful ingredients such as watermelon, rosehip, tomato and calendula oils to hydrate, soothe, calm and heal the skin while also providing essential antioxidants to help fight free radicals, environmental damage and exposure to blue light omitted from electronic devices. In our day to day lives, we are utilising electronic screens more and more, whether it be from computers at work, using our smartphones to check social media feeds or even using touch screens in public spaces – and the effects can have a huge effect upon our skin. Long-term exposure to blue light has a similar effect on the appearance of our skin as UV light, as the toxicity builds with the skin cells and essentially, prematurely ages the skin. As Phyto Power Complex also contains spinach seed oil, the face oil will not only repair the damage caused by artificial light but thanks to the pigments in spinach, will also help shield the skin from the blue light before the it has a chance to effect the skin.

Despite including some beautiful essential oils such as bergamot, frankincense and sweet orange, I love how Phyto Power Complex has a natural green aroma that captures the scent of the oils utilised within this unique formula. The oil itself is rich yet surprising lightweight and absorbs into the skin in an instant, leaving behind no shine or greasy residue in its wake. After application my skin looks moisturised and flake-free, with all dry patches instantly eradicated. I’ve noticed on a long term basis, my skin remains less dry for longer and looks much healthier in its appearance. My complexion is brighter and has a natural glow to it, and my skin feels incredibly smooth and less irritated. The eczema around my nose and the redness in my cheeks is greatly improved and my skin generally looks and feels happier. I’ve found Phyto Power Complex works in harmony with my other skincare products and has integrated into my beauty routine nicely without causing any irritations or breakouts. The vegan face oil is perfectly suited for every skin type, so much so that it’s also part of the Green Beauty Revolution Facial Gift Set that I reviewed last month.

I have to say that Alexa Sky Botanicals’ Phyto Power Complex Face Oil goes beyond a simple face oil as it delivers so much more. From its beautiful ingredients and unique formula, to it’s earthy scent and lightweight consistency – it is one of my favourite facial oils to use on a daily basis. I spend so much time on electronic devices that i’d never really considered the effect it would have on my skin, so utilising this on a long term basis within my skincare regime can only be a positive experience and one that i’m sure will continue for the long haul.
