The Natural Beauty Box: June 2019

After such a great collaboration back in October last year, I was very excited to see The Natural Beauty Box and Rare Beauty join forces yet again for June’s Summer Vibes themed box.

All with leaflet

The box contents certainly didn’t disappoint, containing 5 Summer essentials that were certain to save my skin during the changeable British weather we’ve been experiencing recently. The box value of over £75.00 made this incredibly good value for money as always and the variety of products and amazing brands featured certainly lived up to my expectations.

Silvan Skincare: Bliss Balm

lvan Skincare

This was the first time i’d used any Silvan Skincare products but I have to say that after my experience with their Bliss Balm over the past few weeks, it certainly won’t be my last. Bliss Balm contains shea butter, jojoba, olive oil and arica oil to deeply nourish the skin while the addition of Ylang Ylang essential oil is relaxing to the senses. The balm itself is silky smooth and soft, with a small amount of balm going the distance, spreading across the skin with ease and leaving it intensely moisturised yet not greasy at all. I love how the scent of Ylang Ylang is perfectly balanced and not overpowering, yet remains on the skin for several hours after use. It makes for the perfect massage balm to keep skin in tip top condition and is great to use before bed to help unwind and relax before drifting off to sleep.

Soap Folk: Organic Lip Balm (Rose Geranium)

Soap Folk

I am a huge fan of Soap Folk products and was excited to see another one of their lip balms featured in June’s box. The organic lip balm is blended with Carnauba Wax and Cocoa Butter to intensely moisturise the lips, act as a protective barrier against environmental factors and slow the signs of aging. The balm has a firm texture thanks to the Carnauba Wax which makes it perfect for this time of year when other balms are more volatile in the heat. The addition of Rose Geranium essential oil makes for a beautifully light, uplifting fragrance and also soothes lips and reduces any inflammation. The plastic-free packaging makes this lightweight for popping into your handbag and is also very travel friendly. The range of fragrances means there is something for everyone and it truly is a summer essential you won’t want to be without (so much so that I actually featured it in my Top 5 Plastic Free Summer Essentials over at The Ecological earlier this month).

Pure Savvy: Just a Minute Brightening Facial Mask

Pure Savvy

No skincare routine would be complete without a great quality mask yet I don’t think i’ve ever experienced one which is so effective in such a short space of time than Pure Savvy’s Brightening Facial Mask. The mask itself, aptly named Just a Minute, takes only 60 seconds to reveal a brighter and glowing complexion, leaving behind skin which feels soft and fresh.  The mask contains bilberry, grapefruit, orange and lemon to exfoliate even the most sensitive of skin, and thanks to the addition of rose water and vitamin C, the mask also reduces redness and improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The mask is incredibly lightweight, with a smooth gel-like texture which isn’t sticky or greasy at all. What I love most about the mask is the ease of removal, as it can simply be wiped away with a damp cloth or a simple splash of water. I didn’t experience the usual redness or tingling which I tend to have when using a mask with Alpha Hydroxy Fruit Acids, so for me, this mask is a winner. I am currently using more products from the brand and have to say that so far, their range has certainly impressed with their performance so far- so don’t forget to check back to see more reviews from Pure Savvy coming soon!

Pure Savvy: Just a Minute Brightening Facial Mask – £40.00

Freyaluna: Regain Your Balance Facial Mist

Freyaluna

I’m a huge fan of Freyaluna products and was pleased to see their Regain Your Balance Harmonising Facial Mist in June’s edit. Firstly, I love the plastic-free packaging of this sample sized bottle as the cork stopper makes application onto a facial cloth incredibly easy and completely guilt free. This Harmonising Facial Mist combines rosewater, ylang ylang, geranium and patchouli to balance, brighten and soothe the skin. The scent is beautifully light and fresh, with a perfectly balanced floral aroma that is uplifting and calming on the senses.  The mist leaves skin feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, and despite only using this as a toner so far, I can see how it would make a lovely mist throughout the day. This is certainly a product for the wish list as it has truly reaffirmed my love of the brand.

Freyaluna: Regain Your Balance Harmonising Facial Mist – £25.00/100ml (also available in this sample size)

Elsa’s Organic Skin Foods: Natural Deodorant (Lemon Ice)

Elsas

Last but by no means least, Elsa’s Natural Deodorant Crème has to be the ultimate Summer essential featured in June’s edit of The Natural Beauty Box. The plastic-free natural deodorant is the perfect product to keep you dry and smelling fresh throughout the day, and is even gentle enough to use anywhere on the body that requires odour control in the warmer weather. I recently featured this in my Top 5 Plastic-Free Summer Essentials over on The Ecological as I’ve been so impressed by its performance, from the smooth texture and easy application to the beautiful citrus-fresh scent that lasts. What I love most is that it doesn’t dry my underarms or cause any irritation like other deodorants I’ve used in the past, so for me, Elsa’s is one of the best.

Elsa’s: Natural Deodorant (Lemon Ice) – £11.00
