Apotheca London: Frankincense Cleansing Balm (Review)

Apotheca London were among my favourite brand discoveries of 2019, with a small yet beautiful skincare range formulated with sustainable, organic ingredients and made right here in the UK.

Each product I’ve tried from their range has impressed me, from their hydrating rosewater mist to the intensely nourishing face oil – the results demonstrate just how special each item truly is. You can imagine my delight when I was offered the chance to try the latest member of the Apotheca family, the luxurious Frankincense Cleansing Balm* which promises to remove all traces of residual dirt, impurities and make-up -all without drying the skin out.

The balm itself is formulated with Apricot Kernal Oil, Coconut Oil, Beeswax, Sunflower Seed Oil and essential oils of Grapefruit and Frankincense to create the most beautiful silky, smooth balm that melts into the skin with ease. The balm has the most heavenly scent with a citrus-fresh grapefruit aroma that awakens the senses, with the delicate sweet, woody aroma of Frankincense just coming through as you wash it away with a damp cloth.

I have to say that my skin felt incredibly soft and nourished after use yet I wasn’t left with any greasy residue on my skin. I didn’t experience any dry patches or tightness after cleansing and my skin felt clean and refreshed. I have utilised this in both my AM and PM routine and my skin has been loving the moisturising formulation that really does deliver on its promises. The best news is that the concentrated balm goes an incredibly long way, as despite using it on a daily basis over several weeks, I still had balm remaining – so it really is incredibly good value for money!

Apotheca has once again lived up to my high expectations with a cleansing balm that promotes a healthy, glowing complexion with skin that feels nourished and thoroughly cleansed. Each product I’ve tried has delivered amazing results and demonstrates that simplicity really is the key to great skin.
