I’ve been loving Om Shanti Alchemy products recently as I love everything about the brand from their ethos and sustainably-sourced ingredients to the Reiki-infused formulations that form their stunning product range – Om Shanti Alchemy continually impress.
After enjoying their Sattva Salts in my body care routine, i’ve been utilising their Magnesium Oil at bedtime over the past few months and have been impressed by the overall performance which has made an impact on both my skin and overall wellbeing.
Magnesium brings with it many benefits and is regarded as a wellbeing nutrient as it aids our bodies in dealing with stress, anxiety and depression, promotes a deeper, more restful sleep, helps muscles recover quicker after exercise and even helps with migraines and PMS symptoms. Stress, caffeine and alcohol consumption has been recognised as depleting levels of magnesium in our bodies at a much quicker rate, and with the over production of soil, magnesium levels have been dramatically reduced in the foods we eat – therefore we need to get our magnesium from other sources.
Om Shanti Alchemy’s Magnesium Oil is formulated with rose-quartz apricot kernal oil, water and an essential oil blend of patchouli and lavender to promote relaxation and sleep, relieving aches and pains in joints and muscles while also softening the skin.
The cruelty-free and vegan body oil is incredibly lightweight and highly absorbent, with a light mist evenly covering the skin with the Reiki-infused formulation with leaves behind no residue on the skin. The woody and earthy scent of patchouli is strong yet not overpowering, with a light lavender undertone coming through on application. On applying a few sprays on legs, arms and shoulders, you may feel a slight tingle on the skin if you have low magnesium levels, however this feeling quickly goes off and after a few days of use, the sensation dissipates completely and you can then increase the number of sprays from three upto around ten.
I am very conscious that sometimes, when using something new, that good results have an element of mind-over-matter, yet I strongly believe that my experience with Om Shanti Alchemy’s Magnesium Oil has made a big difference to my sleep pattern in particular. I had the tingling sensation for around 3 days, and then as my body adjusted, I didn’t feel any such sensation thereafter. The first night of use, my sleep pattern wasn’t altered at all, as I still woke up several times in the night, yet I certainly felt more rested in the morning than I had in a long time. Each night, I found myself sleeping for longer periods of time, and then feeling more and more refreshed and alert in the morning. The more I use Magnesium Oil within my bedtime routine, the more benefits I reap from the formulation. I find myself sleeping all the way through most nights, more so than I did before utilising Magnesium Oil in my nightly routine, and both my body and mind just seem more relaxed. I haven’t experienced any irritation on my skin and enjoy the fact that it doesn’t leave any greasy residue on my skin which would normally be transferred onto my sheets. It really has been an incredibly experience within my night time ritual and has improved my whole sense of wellbeing.
Yet again Om Shanti Alchemy have blown my away with their beautiful products that go beyond simple skincare, promoting a sense of wellbeing and calm that has certainly made a difference to my own routine and lifestyle. The brand go beyond a range of beauty products and offer a truly sensory experience that captures everything the brand stand for. I truly love everything the brand encompasses and cannot wait to share my final product review with you very soon.
