I first discovered Raven Botanicals Skin Saviour Facial Oil via July’s Skin Organics Beauty Box and it wasn’t long before I purchased the full sized version as my skin adored the nourishing formulation that has kept my dry skin at bay…

Raven Botanicals are a British, indie brand created by Sisters Arabella and Charlotte who grew up in the Scottish borders surrounded by beautiful rural surroundings. Their passion for the natural world was encouraged and eventually lead them to explore the realm of skincare and how natural, plant-based ingredients can be incredibly beneficial for the skin. It was here that Raven Botanicals was born, and despite being a relatively new brand, is already going from strength to strength with several new launches and incredible customer reviews.

Their Skin Saviour Facial Oil is formulated with all skin types in mind thanks to it’s skin loving ingredients and lightweight texture. The nourishing blend contains 12 ingredeints in total including;

  • Sweet Almond Oil,
  • Sunflower Seed Oil,
  • Rosehip Oil,
  • Jojoba Oil,
  • Avocado Oil,
  • Vitamin E,
  • Sea Buckthorn,
  • Bourbon Geranium,
  • Frankincense,
  • Neroli,
  • Lavender,
  • Orange.

The oil itself has a lightweight texture with deeply moisturising benefits for the skin that you’d only expect from a richer consistency. What I love is that despite its incredibly nourishing properties, it soaks into the skin beautifully, leaving behind a glowing complexion with no greasy residue or oily appearance.

The scent is perfectly balanced and a real treat for the senses, with a citrus-rich aroma that has a warmer, floral scent lingering in the background. The essential oil blend works in harmony, with each oil serving a purpose in both scent and skin loving properties. It’s a comforting yet somewhat uplifting scent, and one which is maintained as it begins to slowly ebb away after application.

I loved the effect this oil had on my skin from the first moment I used it, as my skin remained moisturised throughout the day and I didn’t experience any dryness or tightening at all. It is one of those facial oils that makes your skin feel great immediately after the first application, and leaves your skin looking glowing in it’s appearance. My first impressions were great and I didn’t believe my experience could improve further after long term use but Skin Saviour continues to surprise me…

I’ve been using this for nearly two months now and have to say that my skin has been loving the nourishing formulation. My skin is less flaky and hasn’t experienced any breakouts since using it on a long term basis. Despite the good old changeable, British weather causing a few minor eczema flare-ups, the patches haven’t felt quite so irritated and have healed much quicker than usual. My skin looks fresher, brighter and plumper in it’s appearance, and is softer to the touch. I love the fact that Skin Saviour’s lightweight texture ensures that my skin doesn’t look too shiny, and that it integrates seemlessly in both my AM and PM routines.

I feel Raven Botanicals Skin Saviour Facial Oil will be a Winter staple, as I believe it will continue to perform exceptionally well during the cooler weather when skin can feel drier than normal. If you are looking for a great all-rounder when it comes to a facial oil then Raven Botanicals might just be the one for you. I am currently trialling some samples of their other products, including their Skin Saviour Night Balm and one of their newly released face masks, so I cannot wait to share my experience of these with you very soon. It is safe to say that Raven Botanicals have been one of my favourite brand discoveries of the year so far and I cannot wait to see them grow in the future.
