When it comes to purchasing solid soap bars, Soap Folk are my top choice every time as the quality, soap longevity and overall performance is outstanding and although many soaps have come close, Soap Folk is still the one you’ll find in my bathroom all year around.
If you’re unfamiliar with Soap Folk, then you are certainly missing out. They are a British indie brand who pride themselves on creating natural soap and skincare which is palm-oil free and certified organic by The Soil Association. Each product is lovingly handcrafted in Gloucestershire and has become recognisable thanks to their beautiful, decorative packaging that is not only incredibly pretty but is also completely plastic free and reusable (I love to re-purpose the wrapping as scented gift wrap for smaller gifts).
Their soap range comes in a variety of sizes and purchase options so there’s an array of different ways to explore the brand yourself or give the gift of eco-friendly skincare for any occasion.
I recently featured Soap Folk’s Travel Soap Small Gift Set* in my Natural Skincare Christmas Gift Guide this year as their soap sampler, containing 6 miniature bars, is not only a great way to choose your favourite scent but is also a great travel companion or stocking filler for any age. The mini soaps come beautifully presented in an illustrated kraft box, nestled in shredded paper with each soap, in their colourful wrapping, lined up in a row. Not only does the box look beautiful when opened, but it also smells incredible too.
Lavender & Oatmilk
Soap Folk’s Lavender & Oatmilk Soap is among my personal favourites after discovering it in The Natural Beauty Box last year.
The beautifully scented Lavender and Oatmilk Soap is possibly one of the soaps from the collection that lathers the most, as it forms a rich and creamy lather that is intensely moisturising on the skin. The scent truly captures the lavender aroma and is beautifully calming on both the skin and the senses alike. It’s a great soap to utilise in my routine when if my skin is particularly dry or experiencing any irritation and it’s soothing as well as nourishing making it the perfect bar for Winter skin too.
This particular soap bar has one of the most subtle aromas of all the Soap Folk range yet is a lovely, fresh scent that actually makes it a joy to use.
The bar itself lathers well and is perfect for when my skin is feeling particularly irritated or experiencing eczema flare-ups. The skin-calming, anti-bacterial ingredients of juniper berry and kaolin clay make it perfect for problematic skin as well as those looking for a balancing soap bar for oily skin types too.
When it comes to energising and refreshing aromas, Soap Folk’s Peppermint Soap Bar is certainly high on the list of minty products to invigorate the skin and the senses!
The gorgeous energising Peppermint aroma is one of the most intense from the Soap Folk collection which leaves your skin feeling clean and smelling fresh all day long. The bar forms a rich and creamy lather which leaves the skin feeling soft and nourished after use (when my skin isn’t feeling too irritated). The Peppermint Soap Bar is certainly one of my favourites, especially for a morning shower, and one which you will always find in my soap stash.
Lemon & Bergamot
I absolutely love the citrus freshness of the Lemon and Bergamot Soap Bar as it isn’t overpowering, and is surprisingly quite delicate in its aroma.
The perfectly balanced scent is paired with a lighter lather, thanks to the high sunflower and olive oil content which leaves skin feeling soft, smooth and gloriously clean. Due to its ingredients, this particular bar works wonders on all skin types yet will really benefit oilier skin types as lemon and bergamot are incredibly balancing ingredients.
Milk & Honey
I personally love the freshness of the Milk and Honey Soap Bar as it has a delicate aroma from the natural ingredients, predominantly honey, which makes it perfect for even the most sensitive skin types.
This particular soap is the first soap founder Fiona created, as she wanted a soap bar that was gentle enough to use on her children. The Milk & Honey Soap Bar creates such a lovely creamy lather that feels nourishing on the skin and like all the Soap Folk range, doesn’t leave it feeling dry or tight at all. I love how this is perfect for anyone to use, and thanks to the intensely moisturising formulation, makes it a great bathroom essential during the Winter months.
The Rose Geranium Soap Bar from Soap Folk certainly evokes memories of Summer, with a beautiful sweet, floral scent that captures the fragrance of an English Garden.
This soap bar with a lovely pink hue forms a lighter, more velvety lather due to the addition of clay within the bar. It leaves skin feeling cleansed, soft and smelling of roses! I have also experienced this signature scent in a lip balm too and I have to say that the signature fragrance from soap to other skincare products correlates beautifully and maintains the same natural aroma no matter which product you try.
I must say that each Soap Folk Soap Bar i’ve tried never fails to impress with amazing results after every use. This little box of joy is a truly beautiful eco-friendly gift experience as not only is it free-from plastic but as each bar is an off cut from the larger soap bar, it is also almost zero-waste too. Whether you are buying as a gift, using as travel companion or merely trying each variety – you certainly won’t be disappointed! The best news is that if you would prefer a vegan box, you can simply select the ‘vegan’ option, or pop a note in the comments box at the checkout if you would prefer to swap the Milk and Honey bar to another fragrance.
